The reason they have an expanded playoff is to draw more eyes. If only 8 out of 30 teams make the playoffs, too many teams are out in July, and they sell their players. That means fans stop showing and less money for the league. If more teams have a chance to win, more fans tune in and more fans go to games. It’s business.I'm not complaining that Philly lost, but I hate that the Diamondbacks are in the World Series. The layout has to change. Go back to a single Wild Card, have the DS and CS's and let the chips fall where they may. The current layout yields bullshit like a .500 team in the World Series.

Also, those teams should have easily dispensed with the Dbacks if they were that bad
Diamondbacks are kind of sneaky deep.
They don't strike out and they keep the line moving. Very much like the Astros in that way when they're at their best. And Carroll seems like he's got the clutch gene.I don't know about sneaky deep but they steal bags and are phenomenal defensively. Very easy to underestimate them.
All that said Texas should win. They were legitimately great during the RS which was diminished by the fact that they had a rough 5 weeks towards the end of the season. Now they're playing like the team that existed for most of the season. Lots of respect for how aggressive their FO has been in building that team.
Baseball is the only sport where anything can truly happen if you get into the playoffs and where its entirely possible to buy your way into contention.
I'm happy as hell the Diamondbacks are losing the World Series. I waited 22 years to watch them suffer.Happy as hell for Monty, puke for Chapman.
