Every time he pitched I thought there was a legitimate chance for a no hitter or a perfect game or something. It was totally electric.

Baty and Alvarez need to play every day. Time to figure out how to get Mauricio and Vientos in there. Too many old, overpaid, underperforming guys in the lineup.

The rotation is a different and worse story since there's no one ready to step in.

The pitching staff is so bad they’re not winning anything. I don’t know that they have a single pitching prospect?

The idea of a rotation anchored by Scherzer and Verlander is fine on paper until your eyes make it to the part that lists their DOB. Counting on two really old guys with tons of mileage is a huge gamble, particularly when you have other guys like Carrasco who have had health issues and an unknown like Senga.

On one hand you want to give the team something of a pass because to have all this injury mess in the rotation at once is really bad luck, but then again you remember that it's not exactly something that should have been totally unforseen.
