We shall see how it goes but there is only one puck and all three want a lot of it. That tends to lead to one player on that line getting left out of the action a bit. Someone is going to have to simplify and accept less for it to work imo.

If it sticks I'd like to see Cole with Gabe as Gabe scored a lot of his goals as a pure triggerman. As a right shot that should work well with Cole's playmaking. Given that line 2 has now been broken up I'd look to start transitioning Cole back to center. Do it slowly but I think they eventually are going to need to find a way for both of Iafallo and Vilardi to be in the top 6 as both are better players then Name.
Even cole would be a better fit on that top line as we have seen him create while only having the puck on his stick for a few seconds.

It's a lot of shooters, playmakers to throw out on one line - but the potential for a very fast, dynamic line is tempting.
55/81 are already moving the puck well - can Ehlers get in on that?
Looks like we're going to see more of that line - might as well hope for the best.
I agree on Gabe being a good match with Cole - shooter / playmaker pair that could be very dangerous.

Chef and kc have been entering the zone pretty cleanly themselves. It just adds what they already have.
IMO, it's hit and miss - and if teams throw up a wall protecting a lead or in an effort to slow things down, that line can struggle with the zone.
They are better this year over last (which was horrible), but Ehlers is the guy that can carry it in deep on his own and neither of the other two have shown that.
Zone entries for that pair usually consists of a short pass to the wing and what usually turns into a puck battle / cycle. KC likes to curl back, Scheif will try to work it on the wall - but Ehlers will add more speed to the entry which might generate more off the rush - and I don't see a lot of that now.

Vilardi will ease back in on the 4th and pp. I think Bones wants him on the wing with 55 and 81 eventually. That would put Iafallo on the 2nd, slide Perfetti back to the middle. namestikov to the 4th.

That said, Vilardi could be a great 2c player as well.

Any word on Heinola's recovery? He should be well into rehab by now. He's about 7 weeks into the recovery.

Been really quiet on Heinola. Assume we wont hear anything until the notification comes that he is with the Moose for a rehab stint.

Eagerly awaiting his return to the team though!!

I think his window is just about to open but the tail end was end of December.

I'd like to see Volare tried out at center. He played center last playoffs.
From what some Oilers' fans say, he was really hard to play against in the playoffs and they were glad to see him (and Iafallo) leave their division.

What I would do until Names gets back...

Perfetti Scheif Lambert (yes)
KFC Volare Ehlers
Nino Lowry Apples
Iafallo Barron Gus

Honestly why not go 3 scoring lines

Connor Scheif Vilardi
Nino perfetti Chibrikov
Iafallo names ehlers
Barron Lowry Apples

Essentially you sending ajf down and gus to the press box when everyone is healthy

I’d like to see:

Perfetti-Scheifele-Vilardi
Iafallo-Names-Ehlers
Nino-Lows-Apples
Barron-Gus-AJF

Any more injuries and I’d call up Chibrikov for 4th line duty to get a taste of the NHL. Having him play top 6 minutes and an elevated role is a bit much to ask a young 1st yr player in NA, imo.

These are really nice lines.
It is time Perfetti played on a line with Scheif...there's no better fill in.
Names and Ehlers have chemistry and Iafallo is only playing slightly above his talent as I see him as a defensive tweener between 2nd and 3rd lines.
No use touching Lowry's line. This is a line that wins you games in the playoffs.

Do the Jets call up Toninato?

I like this one. Might try swapping Iafallo and Barron to give Barron a shot.

I think Scheif and Perfetti would combine well.

Yeah if KC is out long term and they don't want to fully have Cole developing at center yet then it would make sense to put Fly back with Name as they have chemistry. It also would make some sense as they don't have to offensive talent with KC down to help insulate Cole at center.
