Martinez is currently injured. He may be healthy for game one though.

Not much info on the injury, as ‘tis the season. If he’s on IR, they don’t have to do anything but will be running an extremely thin defense. If he’s on IR then he’ll miss the first 3 or 4 games.

Also forgot the Golden Knights have Comtois on a PTO. So if they want to sign him someone will have to go.

Cale Fleury is definitely interesting. Doesn't have the ideal size, but he can play.

Zboril out of Boston is another one i'd definitely look at. Especially if Soucy is going to miss some time. He's also got some LD/RD versatility...though that seems to not be very relevant to Tocchet/Foote.

I'd actually look at whether they'd entertain a Rathbone/Zboril swap at this point...just to get rid of that Rathbone deal that we probably don't want kicking around anymore, clogging things up at the AHL level where i'd rather see other guys getting offensive minutes and PP time.

Ludvig and Coghlan are must claims. In the same way that Vanillacoke seems to think every other waiver claim is a must claim.

But those two are actually sure things.
Coghlan autoclaim dont get dicked by waiting for vegas

Ludvig also intriguing.. GREAT mix of what we need

Recreate Hughes-Schenn by playing Hughes-Bogosian
Bogosian only seems to ever sign with teams that have a chance at contending, as well as east coast teams. We are neither of those things. I get the sense he wouldn’t be happy here, but I have nothing to base that on. He also appears to be injury prone so not a great longterm option.

I lurked the Panthers off-season thread, it seems like they wanted Ludvig on the team and think he'll get claimed. Worth a shot for the Canucks.

I don't get the interest in Coghlan, although I know little about him. Isn't he more offensively focused and kind of meh in his own zone?

Seeing all of these names on the waiver wire makes me understand the Wolanin waiving more - he'll probably pass through given the other names on the list.
