Canadian market is as big as it's gonna get, that's exactly why we should try to grow the game more in America. The cap of other sports is way higher because they're more popular, if we want hockey to get more popular we need to grow it in AmericaLet's go!
Sure...the Halifax Mooseheads have better attendance than Arizona and people wonder why the cap doesn't go up
Need him not to allow Hughes to just abuse him at the blue. Points schmoints.Need an Othmann hat trick and a US win.
Not true, plenty of areas that could easily have an NHL team in Canada. I'm all for growth in new areas in the states as well but it can't be in shitty hockey towns like Arizona. The other sports have a long history in the states, hockey will always be behind baseball and basketball in the USA just like hockey will always be #1 ahead of those sports in CanadaCanadian market is as big as it's gonna get, that's exactly why we should try to grow the game more in America. Hockey is so embedded in our culture I don't think a new team would do anything to increase the popularity of hockey in Canada because everyone already watches it. Most people also aren't going to jump ship to a new team, they already have a team that their family has been fans of for generations. If they attract new fans it's just gonna be people who were depressed Canuck or Leaf fans lol, cities in America would bring brand new fans. America is 10x the population of Canada (and has vastly more disposable income than Canada) there are so many untapped markets there. Not true, plenty of areas that could easily have an NHL team in Canada. Big pp now...begin the Bedard show!
Man Othmann should have had one there
It's never gonna compete with the other sports so imo you put teams where they're wanted and guaranteed to succeed. The Florida game the other night was mostly New York fans, and on nights they play lesser traveling teams it's half empty, that wouldn't happen anymore in Canada.Hockey is so embedded in our culture I don't think a new team would do anything to increase the popularity of hockey in Canada because everyone already watches it. What game are you watching?Did they take Othman off of line and and PP1 ?
What are you offering? Jones and a 3rd?I wonder if the Senators would move Tyler Boucher. He’d be a good pick up for the Rangers. Need more forwards that crash the net and cause havoc
Greenway is butt American.I really want to see more out of Othmann in the 2nd and 3rd. I thought he looked too deliberate. He's gotta figure out a way to become a difference maker.
on a side note, is it just me, or does the US spit out a very specific brand of hockey player? High skilled, strong skaters, not nec as much size or physicality as Canada. It's a bunch of Quinn and Jack Hughes' vs a bunch of Braden Schneiders and Greenways (and also a Bedard!). But in general, I feel like, it's been several WJCs in a row where you can see a pattern in the kinds of players being developed by the two countries.
In a nutshell -- Canada is the Lightning. US is more like the Devils. And the Czechs are like the Islanders.
Canada's outplaying the US in the 2nd. Every line but the Othmann/Wright line. They are not in sync. And I'm being nice in my description. They are just not supporting the puck. Just getting out worked, sloppy and slow.I really want to see more out of Othmann in the 2nd and 3rd. I thought he looked too deliberate. He's gotta figure out a way to become a difference maker.
