I know I'm going to get crushed for this and I honestly don't care, but nothing that Connor is doing in this tournament is really impressing me. He's just confirming what we all knew already which was that he can dominate anybody even near his age group. I not sure why people are tripping over their tongues right now. This is the exact situation of a kid that potentially would have really benefited from in some manner being exposed to a level of professional hockey prior to his draft here. The same thing Matthews did. It would accelerate him and his transition to the NHL tremendously. All of this stuff watching him just make these kids look silly is just watching more of the same. Sure it's a different stage and that's wonderful, but is anyone learning anything new about this kid that they didn't know three weeks ago?

Bedard should count his lucky stars we have no hope in getting him, although I'd be really intrigued to see what Tanner Glass and Jed Ortmeyer could teach him.
They would have him just practicing blocking shots for the first 3 days of camp

Can you imagine the rioting around the league if we got Bedard though?
There's going to be riding around the league regardless of who got him. It's not just a thing about the rangers. There's going to be 31 team fan bases whining about it this summer and for the next two decades

More of the same stuff? Name another 17 year old that has done what he has done at the wjc. Kid has already broken every canadian record in less games and at ages 16 and 17 rather than previous record holders doing it at 18 and 19. What he is doing is nothing short of impressive. Canada is lucky he has been incredible because the rest of the team has been less than steller.

Edit: sorry birdbrained reading your post. My sentiment still stands, what he is doing is extremely impressive.

Exactly it's extremely impressive, but it's literally just confirming what we already knew. I'm not saying that his play is not impressive, I'm just saying it's more of what we know. I would love to have seen this kid go a different route this year to really challenge themselves to start his professional journey early if he could have although I understand for a lot of these kids these junior highlight events are milestones that they can only reach for the once or twice in their lives.

I would say Bedard is confirming what we all “suspected,” not what we all “knew already.” The WJC is the top pre-draft tournament, it’s part of the evaluation process. Lots of guys dominate their junior leagues then shrink during the WJC.

I think classifying him in the "a lot" group is disingenuous to the player and prospect that is. It's not like he came on the radar this year, he's been projected to be at an elite of elite level for literally years.

What Bedard does today will say more about where he is than the rest of the tourney. They had a couple soft teams to play against that inflated his stats. He's still the best junior player in the world by miles.

Is there any legal stream of the USA vs Canada game in the USA today? I know it is being broadcast on NHL Network, but I do not have a way to watch on that channel.

I love Arizona, people who hate on them being allowed to stay in the league are scumbags! Canada deserves less teams not more
Hey, if he goes to a Canadian team I'm all for it. A Canadian team deserves him. As a Canadian and Ranger fan, I don't understand the hate. A second franchise in the GTA would be a far better choice than some struggling markets.

Hope he goes to Arizona, no one else deserves him. Praying he stays out of Philly or Canada
Why not Canada exactly?

a) because i dislike all Canadian teams except Calgary and b) because they already got gifted McDavid and Matthews

Ok thanks. I'd agree that Toronto and Edmonton would be my least likely Canadian spots for him but that won't happen. Pittsburgh getting some past gifts has made me dislike them intensely.

where's the tsn feed link? not watching the game of the century on freaking NHL network remote coverage feed
