I haven't watched much but have seen highlights and his fancy blind between the legs cross crease pass on the PP got everyone pumped, and it was nice, but that's a dime a dozen play for NHL caliber players. It gets blocked more often than not in the NHL though (CK tries it once every few games and does it one touch style at extremely high speed, but teams and goalies can read that from a mile away and it rarely works. Another highlight of his finishing a one timer with the goalie behind the play is nice too but nothing too great. Hopefully he makes the jump to the NHL and is one of those rare guys who is able tor raise his game to match the level of play right away.

Missed the first but our boy looked terrible in the second. He couldn’t do anything right - gripping the stick too hard.

He’s looked better than this in the tournament so I’ll chalk it up to nerves.

Not going to overreact, but I don't necessarily think his style of play has been all that different from game to game. I think the pace of the game and the degree of difficulty offered by the opponent has. I would like to see him elevate and that whole line elevate in these games against better competition. I see the skill. I see some of the physicality. But I also see a pace of play issue from him that he will need to work through. He's got more skill than someone like Cuylle but you can understand why Cuylle took his place on the first line in the summer tourney. I just want more motor from him. Too much "lurking" away from traffic. It feels like he finds himself too far from the play too often. It's very possible that Wright is also playing poorly and he's the center, so I'm happy to cut some slack if it's warranted. But I just want to see more from him. It's not about points, it's about consistent impact. Chmelar has less skill than Othmann, but he made a bigger consistent impact probably because his play away from the puck is more consistent.

Hughes is ass

Hughes ass
hes clearly very good, but he developed the same problem his brother quinn did in the wjc. trying to do everything himself. pass the f***ing puck in the offensive zone dude. interchange with ur teammates. he was a puckhog in the offensive zone and skated himself out of dangerous zone time.
