Prospect Info: 2024-25 Ducks Prospects

Not our prospect but what Chernyshov is doing in the OHL is insane. I was hoping the Ducks got him at 31 before the trade up, then 35. Sucks he went to San Jose. Their rebuild is coming along really nicely.

Misa has really seen his numbers spike since Chernyshov arrived, instant chemistry between them.

Rebuilds do tend to come along nicely when a team drafts well.

I would be very wary of using the Sharks as a model for anything. They have never achieved any real success for their entire franchise existence. The Ducks have also had many prospects outside of round one be very successful such as Terry.

That being said, your statement is both obvious and correct. Rebuilds are better when the drafting is good. But that's like saying pizza is better when the ingredients are good. Duh, what is the alternative line of thinking?

Färjestad lost the CHL final 1-2 against Lions Zürich in Switzerland last night. So close to become the Champion.

Solberg was a healthy scratch. I think it's something with discipline again, looks like he's a handful for this coach. SHL game tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.

Like said, Clara won in his debut allowing only one goal out of 32 shots. He was chosen as the first star of the game as well. I didn't see the game but reading some comments by fans it seems that Clara played calmly and confidently after some hesitation in the 1st period (he probably needed a moment to get used to the new team). Clara is a big goalie who covers a lot of the net and relies more on positioning rather than athleticism. Someone compared him to Pekka Rinne but lets not get too excited just yet.

It wasn't an easy game for Clara to debut in. Their opponent KooKoo (yes that is a team name) was on a seven game winning streak and they had scored 48 goals in the last 10 games,. They have scored the second most goals in the league. So for Clara to let in only one goal is very good considering the opponent.

Kukkonen's goal scoring has definitely bounced back this season with 8 goals. Last year, he had only one goal. Two years ago, Kukkonen netted 18 goals as a freshman. The move to Wisconsin from Michigan Tech was a very good move for Kukkonen. Wisconsin has two more regular season games left before the Big-10 tournament.

Burnevik leads his college team in scoring and goal scoring. And this is his freshman season! He has got to work on his skating. Nice aspect about being a college prospect is Burnevik can stay in college for four years. The gives him more time to develop that skating.

Uljankskis is his team's 3rd best scorer. He recently got promoted to play in Sweden Men's 2nd tier, HockeyAllsvenskan.

Clara moved from the SHL to Liiga (Finnish league) when I collected all the stats. He posted a 0.969 Sv% and a 1.00 GAA for a debut win.

Pettersson played yesterday and earned 2 assists as well as went 71% on the faceoff dot (10/14).

Dionicio is a wild stallion that make take some time to break in with his attitude. He has been playing well for his NL-A team, notching three games of playing at least 19:46 TOI and above and a high of 25:24 TOI.

Solberg appears to be in the dog house once again. Similar to Dionicio, wild stallion needs some time to break-in due to extra activities unwanted on the ice for his SHL team. Currently (Feb 20th), there is a Farjestad game in the 2nd period and Solberg has not played a single minute.

The Gulls are in the midst of a 4-game winning streak with a win last night (that is not part of these stat sheets). The combination of Pasta getting promoted back to the AHL, Colangelo getting sent back down to the AHL, Luneau finding his offensive game in the past month or so, Mysak also finding a scoring groove, and trading for vet forward Justin Bailey with Regenda has been a huge boost to the offense!

Bailey: 11 gp, 5g + 5a = 10 pts, and a +5 rating

Also, vet Carpenter's game has come to life in the past seven games. He has 2g + 9a = 11 points (1.57 ppg rate) and a +8 rating.

Unfortuantely, we lost Dionicio for the season as he was sent to NL-A (Swiss top men's league) to finish the season. A couple of unbecoming conduct got him shipped out of NA, but he remains Ducks property as he is in his first year of his ELC.

In the four-game winning streak, the Gulls have outscored the opponents 18 GF to 9 GA. Goal support is huge for the team! The previous 10 games, the Gulls record was 2-6-2; with a GF = 34, GA = 46, and GD = -12.

Are we going to have season end awards, like a Summa Cum Laude award? Who is the front runner for that award? Would it be Sennecke, or is he just hovering based on his draft status and us passing on Demi-God?

For Most Improved, I would say it would be Pastujov so far. Going from the ECHL dumpster to somehow almost being the AHL scoring leader (although on a terrible team) has been pretty impressive.

So Färjestad just lost 2-5 in their own barn, not going well right now. Solberg benched.

I think he hits San Diego next season. I understand those who think he should stay with Färjestad for another year, but there are just too many conflicts between him and the coach. I know Solberg is a good kid and liked by his teammates, but he's still not allowed to play his physical game there. Frustrating for him.

Färjestad also just signed a Canadian d-man for the playoffs. I have a feeling Solberg will take a seat going forward, is there a chance he can join the Gulls tomorrow?

McTavish was much stronger built with muscles while Sennecke is a late bloomer physically and still wire thin.
When Sennecke starts to build up more muscle he's gonna be an absolutely force on the ice in the NHL.

The Ducks brass sent Dionicio from the AHL to across the pond in the NL-A (Swiss league) as their way of disciplining.

Both Solberg and Dionicio go overboard. Both do need to be reined in.

With Solberg and Farjestad, they had no problem with him hitting to start the season. It was only after Solberg kept going beyond that. Fajrestad wants Solberg to be a controlled defender that works within the team system as well as develop his offense to become a top-4, two-way D instead of a fixed 3rd pairing D who is tunnel-visioned on just hitting.

I get it sucks that Solberg is being benched, but what is Solberg doing to get back onto the ice? Solberg won the genetic lottery being 6'2 and 205 lbs, which is why he has been playing against Norway men's league since his age 15-16 season. But being one of the better players in Norway does not mean he'll be one of the better players in the SHL nor NHL today.

One of the reasons that Sennecke wasn't kept with team Canada was because he was an offensive player only for them. Notice that Mac has been with team Canada for WJC-18 and WJC-20. In both tourneys, Mac was put in a position to shutdown the opposing team and did it. In the WJC-20, team Canada lost its shutdown C and Mac had to double as a shutdown C first and then the team found time to put him into an offensive situation.

Sennecke has played for the same team in his D+0 and D+1. Mac had to play across the pond b/c the OHL shutdown for COVID for his D+0 season. Then the following season, Mac was everywhere and had to adapt to the Ducks, Gulls, and Bulldogs in his D+1 season.

RW Sennecke and C Mac are two different players and play different positions. I'm excited for Sennecke's offense and hope he puts on a lot of mass quickly, but he might be two years away. Next year, he might take the Luneau route since Sennecke won't turn 20 years old until Jan: be on "load mgmt", play a few NHL games, play a few AHL games, gets sent back to the OHL before the WJC-20.
