Montreal gets Bedard. Coyotes take Reinbacher at 6 and Benson at 12 in this Wings/Athletic mock draft. Think Benson will last that long?

It’s possible. He’s hurt and he’s small. And his being hurt gives the naysayers who don’t like him because he’s small ammunition not to take him.

Looking at the depth of the draft class makes me wish Coyotes had third 1st round pick. Is there any chance that some team would trade their 1st to Vejmelka or other Coyotes player in the draft?

I'm sure there are Coyotes that could be moved for a 1st, but I'd rather keep Keller. :D

I don't think Veggie alone would get a 1st, but maybe a package. I also think Prosvetov was brought up to see if he is NHL ready, and since he passed that test, one of our netminders will be moved in the off-season.

i think you could see teams with cap issues looking to dump a bad contract (a la Kassian) where we flip our 2nd to get into the late 1st round.

One mans ammunition is another mans evidence, his size is a on the con side of the pro/con list.

I will cry tears of joy. I do think Benson will fall to like 8th
Well going by the "coyote way" other than Logan Cooley , I will have to prepare myself for the Yotes never picking the player I want when it comes their time to pick ..

That being said getting Benson would be awesome . I wonder if BA goes looks at the roster and goes for size rather than skill ? :dunno:

I'm very intrigued by But. His skating is great and his hands are great. His height is about elite as it comes. Reminds me of Isaac Ratcliffe, who didn't really amount to much. I'd happily use a 1st on him, but probably not top 15.

I watched a little bit of Tri-City vs Prince George (WHL playoffs started last night). I was scouting Dragicevic for the Ottawa pick but Ziemmer was the guy who stood out to me. He was a raging bull. If he falls to our 2nd I'd be very interested. Seems a bit under-rated.

Watching the Stars gives me hope that we can build a winning team without lottery luck. Since they drafted Modano 1OA in 1988, their highest pick has been 3OA, and in the last 20 years, they've only drawn top 10 on three occasions. Their top three scorers this season are Hintz and Robertson (both 2nd rd) and Benn (5th rd).
