I think the addition of Price at 38 is a nice choice too (if available). It also feels like a BA move to take a player like Leonard, especially if he takes a smaller player in Benson at 6.

2025 Starters
Keller - Hayton - Schmaltz
Benson - Cooley - Guenther
Maccelli - Geekie - Crouse
McBain - Leonard - Fisher/Doan

Price - Lamoureux
Duda - Moser
Valimaki - Soderstrom

Pretty solid. I really like it actually, that has serious potential.
Leonard is a winger.

Caden Price at 38 would be surprising. I think he goes late 1st.
I haven’t much cared for him when I’ve watched him. Fairly small sample. I also dont rate Cristall as high as others due. Maybe I caught off nights from Kelowna.

Anyone bought any prospect guides the past few years?

I used to buy at least one each year but I haven't bought any for a few years now and am wondering which ones I should consider? I always liked the professional presentation of TSN Draft Preview magazine (not sure they even make it anymore) but McKeens, Redline, Hockey Prospects, etc. usually had more depth and on more players.

1. CBJ Bedard
2. CHI Fantilli
3. ANA Michkov
4. SJS Carlsson
5. MTL Smith
6. ARI Reinbacher
7. PHI Barlow
8. ARI via WSH Benson**

**WSH receives ARI’s 12th overall (previously acquired from OTT) and ARI’s 72nd overall pick (previously acquired from WSH) in the 2023 draft as well as WSH’s 2024 2nd (previously acquired from OTT via WSH).

Watching game two of Örebro - Skellefteå in the Swedish playoffs. Leo Carlsson and Milton Oscarsson (both draft eligible) are running the offence. They need to stop giving Bromé so much ice time when he hasn't produced a single point so far in the playoffs. He's been awful all season.
Wouldn't mind getting Oscarsson with perhaps a 3rd round pick if he's still around by then. An overager who is definitely starting to blossom out. He has more points in the playoffs than he had throughout the entire season, playing with Carlsson definitely helps.

Edit: Carlsson-Oscarsson definitely getting more ice time in P2. Looking dangerous every time they're on the ice. Skating being an 'issue' for Carlsson is just... wrong. The way he just blazes past everyone through the middle of the ice is something to watch. Constantly a a threat on the counter.

Thought he also played center, my bad. I really haven't watched him, but he seems like a middle 6 shooter with some energy to his game. Thinking similar outcome to Crouse, but less defensive talent and a better shot. He's not my first choice with Ottawa's pick, but I'm sure I'd be generally happy with the selection. I'd rather take Danielson or Ritchie with the pick, or if by some stroke of luck he falls, Dvorsky.

I like Leonard a lot. He was easily my favorite of the US17s last season.

Bill's bias for size is pretty clear.

Cooley was an exception and Bill made sure to justify making the exception.
-Cooley's a gym rat
-Cooley has the arm span of a much taller person
-Cooley doesn't quit or back down

I'm not sure if Bill would try to justify Benson or Smith as exceptions. I know Smith isn't small but I think 6'1 is Bill's cutoff and I'm not sure that Smith has any of the traits to help him be an exception.

I think Bill will take Reinbacher if he gets the opportunity.

But Geekie is the opposite in terms of intensity and a go motor, but he has size...so I'm not sure what BA will do.

I know there are 6 players that are more talented than the rest of them, so I'm hoping we get 1 of those 6 players.

Let’s avoid all this and just win a lottery.

I don’t agree with that. He’s got great intensity and motor…sometimes. And he’s got the opposite…sometimes. Geekie’s issue has always been consistency
The great intensity and motor we've seen. AT is the perfect coach to get that out of him with consistency, and BA knows that. I think that's why he was on BA's radar. I would probably make that pick again. Well, after Mateychuk, (I think) but you know what I'm saying.

He's still only 18 years old.

I can see trading down as an option, and it's all about the return. Probability is low, but a team may deem it's worth the price to move up and like I said, it's about the return.
It wouldn't surprise me if a D isn't picked in the top 10 in this draft. Unprecedented, yes, but it is a possibilty considering how many top forward there are and no real elite blue liners in this draft.

To think that last season we were discussing about our goalie situation and now we are discussing about trading 1 at the draft.

Prosvotov may not even get a contract extension at this point.
