I watched a little bit of Tri-City vs Prince George (WHL playoffs started last night). I was scouting Dragicevic for the Ottawa pick but Ziemmer was the guy who stood out to me. He was a raging bull. If he falls to our 2nd I'd be very interested. Seems a bit under-rated.

I like the way the rebuild is going but I would like to see us add some grit with skill. I agree you should always take the BPA but it always seems to the smallest player available too which is fine but we need some boys to look after them or we will lose them to injury. And the tough guys we have suck.

But also it is an obvious fact that the most durable NHL guys do not seem to be the big guys.

I'm confident they will pick the top two picks correctly but then I hope they trade up and grab Stramel for a third first round pick.

Watching the Stars gives me hope that we can build a winning team without lottery luck. Since they drafted Modano 1OA in 1988, their highest pick has been 3OA, and in the last 20 years, they've only drawn top 10 on three occasions. Their top three scorers this season are Hintz and Robertson (both 2nd rd) and Benn (5th rd).

I’ve got Benson 4th and Leonard 14th. So I’d be happy.

I'd be happy with it, I doubt whether either one we will select...something tells me that we'll be getting larger players

Caden Price at 38 would be surprising. I think he goes late 1st.

I think the addition of Price at 38 is a nice choice too (if available). It also feels like a BA move to take a player like Leonard, especially if he takes a smaller player in Benson at 6.
