Craigs article today was fantastic about Guenther. Truly great piece on Guenther and Bear. The Chychrun part was eyerolling and frustrating. Craig gets extremely negative and bitchy when he knows he’s gonna be scooped by the national guys. But there was one very interesting and depressing part about the tank:

^ no wonder BA wants to start the deadline auction a few weeks early. Yikes.

Bear's segment on Guenther really shines a light on the fact that Bear is 1000 times the coach Tocchet could ever hope to be. So insightful and you can tell he genuinely wants to find how to get the absolute best out of each and every player. I seriously hope he makes it through this rebuild.

Since someone around here asked if Fantilli is NHL ready, I was pondering what would happen if he was a Coyote. I would not want him and Cooley both joining the Coyotes lineup as C's right away.

Some luck is at play, but it must also involve skill in the scouting/GM department.

Boston is an excellent example of a team that has drafted well and filled in the gaps with trades/UFAs. No one on their roster was picked by them higher than 13th.

This should also be reassuring to those afraid the Coyotes will draft outside the top three this year. Our scouting department is reportedly very robust, and so far, I like what I see with BAs vision.

While looking at past drafts, I stumbled upon 2012. 1OA was a disappointment, but some good players came out of that first round.
