this would be a non-linear progression year.Hopefully, the Doaner blood lines are solid.
Nope. Move one to forward for a year with limited center duties.Since someone around here asked if Fantilli is NHL ready, I was pondering what would happen if he was a Coyote. I would not want him and Cooley both joining the Coyotes lineup as C's right away.
Let them compete for Bjugstad's spot in camp and send the runner-up to Tuscon? Send them both to Tuscon until we trade Boyd at the next deadline?
The organizations draft and develop has been terrible for much of its existence but they sure have had some bad luck, too.I mean Samuelsson won the memorial cup and scored 40 points in I think his second pro year. He seemed like a fine pick. I have no idea what the hell happened to him after that.
Last year PHNX did a podcast on coyotes draft busts and Samuelsson was one of them. Morgan and peters seemed to indicate that Samuelsson may have had some personal stuff going on that either held back his focus or prevented him from being fully committed to working on what he needed to work on. We’ll never know.
Ultimately it doesn’t really matter because that draft sucked anyway
I believe it was a leg injury or something that further compromised his skating and that wasn't his strength to begin with.I mean Samuelsson won the memorial cup and scored 40 points in I think his second pro year. He seemed like a fine pick. I have no idea what the hell happened to him after that.

Fantilli will likely return to college and then burn a year off his ELC, while I imagine that Cooley signs next month and will have a year on him. That's my only knock on Fantilli, is that he probably won't sign right away (and it is selfish on my part).Nope. Move one to forward for a year with limited center duties.
I think there’s a 99% chance Fantilli is playing in the NHL next season. He’s already the most productive player in the entire NCAA. He’s not going back.Fantilli will likely return to college and then burn a year off his ELC, while I imagine that Cooley signs next month and have a year on him. I agree...I think he just comes straight in, no reason to go back when he's ready and he is ready.I think there’s a 99% chance Fantilli is playing in the NHL next season. He’s already the most productive player in the entire NCAA. He’s not going back.
I disagree and say it's about the college experience and still burning the year off his ELC. He will play next season in the NHL after the frozen four.I think there’s a 99% chance Fantilli is playing in the NHL next season. He’s already the most productive player in the entire NCAA. No he won’t. He’ll play in the nhl next season.I disagree and say it's about the college experience and still burning the year off his ELC. He will play next season in the NHL after the frozen four.
That’s a tough one. I guess we’ve got Boyd, Hayton and McBain down the middle. So shouldn’t be too tough to move on or the other of Fantilli or Cooley to wing. Also, since neither are CHL players, we do have Tucson as an option for either or both.@rt, trades aside (assume Chychrun is gone for picks and prospects) - Coyotes draft Fantilli 2nd overall this summer. What is your forward lineup look like?

I believe both Samuelsson and Visetin had high ankle sprains.I believe it was a leg injury or something that further compromised his skating and that wasn't his strength to begin with.

How do you think Bill feels about it? If last year was any indication, he’s not going to care where somebody is from.Interesting thread
