The NHL teams avoiding Russians at this draft are the same ones that did last draft.

Thanks for the update though Grant.

For all the flack the team gets from fans of other teams there wont be a peep if they finish better than dead last.

If this comes to pass, I'm packing the car to hand deliver a six pack of Fernie First Trax to your doorstep.

Not sure that I agree with your definition of decent. These are the probabilities for the fifth worst team.

Top 2 - 17.3%
5 - 24.5%
6/7 - 58.2%

Decent compared to say... Powerball :)

The worst team has a 75% chance of not picking 1OA

Let's just draft Bedard. He'll be elite and no one will care he's small. Even if he's a winger, he's got Ovechkin potential for scoring goals. 36 years old and he's keeping pace with kids in their early 20s. Bedard may not make it that long in the NHL, but he's got that same goal scorers nose. I want the kid who's life's mission is to score all the goals.
Ingram is ruining any chance of that
He might have to go :)

2023 - Reinbacher
2024 - Aron Kiviharju, along with the signing of AM34 for the elite 1C
2025-2027 Development and playoffs.
2028 - Cup??

That easy right guys? Right?

Who do you like best from this group?

Dvorsky, Ritchie, Sale, Yager

Unlike the top 5 guys, these will have big roles at the U18s.

I’ve got Ritchie and Yager above the other two. Dvorsky ahead of Sale. And they may be a handful of name between all of those, for me. That’s not a clear-cut next-tier, I mean. I’ve got Reinbacher and Dragicevic in that mix, as an example. Barlow, too. And the Americans, Moore and Leonard.

7-17 is pretty murky for me. I’ve got to tear myself away from watching Benson and watch some more Brandon, Oshawa, Tri City, Owen Sound, Prince George, Kelowna, etc.

Last year i say Yager hands down. Today he’s probably 3 or 4.

If u think the offense is there (and it has been at lower levels recently) its Dvorsky.

Button loves Sale.

Ritchie has displayed top playing C qualities at times.

This is why i’m happy with our scouts abilities to assess.

Yep, clear cut top 6, have to stay in the top 6 group

Not that I don't like Dvorsky, Ritchie, Sale, Yager, Barlow, Danielson, Cristall, Reinbacher, Dragicevic, Moore, Leonard, Honzek, and Wood but they are all a tier below the other guys.

Why do we always have to do what the Coyotes do and win when it doesn't matter. Let's hope that BA and draft crew have their hard hats on and can pick the 'gem' out of that list of players.

Ritchie has impressed me the most of the four in the games I’ve watched. But I think I’ve caught his best games. Sale had an amazing U18 but he didn’t impress me as much as he impressed others at the U20.

Dvorsky and Yager are similar for me in that I really liked their D-1 seasons but they haven’t progressed as much as I hoped in their draft years, and both are getting overtaken by kids with steeper improvement curves for me.
