You nailed it. I saw where some service has him ranked as the second or third best defenseman in the draft. He looks like an extra forward out there, a really good extra forward.

If we get a top 5 pick we really can't be disappointed in the tank. Currently sitting 4th worst, the odds of a top 5 pick are 79.5%. We're a hair away from being 3rd worst, which would give us 100% odds of picking top 5.

I'll even add Benson, Carlsson and Michkov to that short list to make me happy. My biggest fear is Montreal dropping below us and two teams pass us with lottery wins and we pick 7. That could easily happen. We're not the only team with an appetite for these guys and the lottery is historically not our friend.

Hope you're right and everyone gives me crap about my predictions from Jan/Feb come draft time. All I want is a top five pick on June 28th and a yes on the May 16th vote. I'll never ask for anything else ever again.

I will absolutely drink myself silly if we win a lotto or lose a lotto. If we end 3rd-5th and don't move it will be a pretty boring night haha. But I don't think anything will come close to the McDavid heartbreak.

I’m close with Benson. And would be with Michkov except for Russia stuff.
