Greenway is Keller’s buddy, IIRC. Might take the sting out of moving Veggie? Frees us up to grab an extra first with less risk of ugly trade demands.
Minnesota is not looking for Veggie. On their site they suggested Ghost and/or Ritchie and a 2nd

Dumba to Edmonton for their 1st.

Chychrun and Ritchie to Minnesota for their 1st + Edmonton 1st and a B level prospect.

Minnesota beats Edmonton in the first round of the playoffs from a Chychrun game winning goal in O

Now we have three 1sts I. The 23 draft. Who do you take at 17 and 22?

Strbak, Stramel, Dragicevic, Leonard, Moore, Ritchie, Heidt, Danielson, Halttunen, Augustine.

Found this on the Avs board. I guess we pass on Smith at five.

So we're not drafting Will Smith? I guess we'll have to win the lottery then! Been thinking who would be the best center inbetween Keller and Schmaltz and came to the conclusion it was Bedard, so we might as well win. Also why I'm hoping to see Crouse Cooley Maccelli together before the end of the season.

I think Bedard will actually be a winger in the NHL...and we just need to be in the top 5

Bedard
Fantilli
Carlsson
Michkov
Smith

there are 2 tiers, Bedard and everyone else, and we're getting one helluva player if we're in the top 5.

Seriously, though. I feel like he’s as strong a skater as Savoie, no?
I haven’t noticed it either. Bensen is easily the most skilled forward so i’m not noticing his skating as a detriment. geekie has skating issues and we took him at 11 and Bensen is putting up points at double the rate that he is producing. I also oike him way better than Savoie.

I don’t even really think Geekie has skating issues. He can skate extremely well for his size. But sometimes he doesn’t skate. That’s his problem is when he goes into autopilot and just cruises out there. If he’s switched to the “ON” position, he’s does everything really well, IMO. Including his skating. I’ve seen pissed off Geekie trying to make a statement and score a goal, have some unekiebave Tage Thompson style rushes.

I’m watching the first period of the Winnipeg and Prince Albert game now. Savoie/Benson make an incredible PK pair. They’ve broken one another for multiple rushes. They look great.

Geekie set Nash up for a glorious chance and he heeled it (runs in the family). Haha.

Ostapchuk’s hustle is good as always, he’s been handling passes like me though. Haha.

Benson is really making things happen from behind the net this season, it seems. Creative kid. And he doesn’t back down or take any schnit out there. He sticks up for himself every time. Savoie is like that too. Easy to cheer for both of them.

Geekie has a nice goal in that game.

Funny considering they were shit not that long ago and had 2 players ask to move (though I think ROR's was mostly contract related).

I'd also love to know where the "prospects don't want to get drafted by Arizona" thing comes from in the first place. UFAs for sure, we suck and are far from stable. But Wright clearly wanted to be here, and Tourigny has shown willingness to work in youth so the opportunities are good. I know we're the fun team to dump on but there's so many other valid things to choose from. Just seems weird.

The amount of “we need to talk about teams tanking” commentary coming from Toronto sports media personalities is hilarious given Toronto literally had one of the most blatant tanks in NHL history

Cooley seemed happy to be drafted here as well. Yes on Wright too. F the Avs.

Pronman rated Geekie’s skating as below NHL average. But it seems to be the only weakness.
