Nice game for Will.
Too many, poor kid. His puck skills are strong. How many headlines will he have in the future that reference “getting Jiggy with it”?

The Yzerplan as some fans call it is not without faults. I’m not an expert on them, but in hindsight signing a bunch of free agents has not met its purpose. As to the first rounders, Lucas Raymond is progressing, on pace for 60 pts in his sophomore season. Edvinsson at 6 was highly touted, and big defenseman take longer. Cossa at 15, not sure I would have done it, but when you have two shots in the first round, you can take a chance like this. I’m sure they wish he was battling in the AHL and his numbers were better. Don’t know much about the Austrian - Kasper. Does not seem horrible. Maybe underwhelming for his reputation??Just a completely off the board question but what does everyone think of Yzerman’s 1st round results since he got to Detroit? Seider had a great rookie campaign what about the rest? Am i wrong for being underwhelmed? The BA strategy to accumulate more lottery tickets seems justified.
He’ll end up the “Fresh Prince of Hockey”.
But will his parents ever understand?Could Will Smith be "Going to Miami" to join the struggling Panthers or will he be drafted in the "Wild Wild West"? All we know for sure is he will be "Getting Jiggy With It" no matter where he is drafted because this hockey player has "Big Willie Style".
The ultimate headline for Will Smith.
Definitely looking at Augustine ahead of Hrabal at this point.I was curious, where is the line for you to trade the pick for multiple later picks? Is it wholely dependent on where the picks are or is a pick inside of a certain area untouchable to you?
I'm kinda thinking, if I'm holding 3, and Bedard and Fantilli are gone, I'd be willing to trade back for the right picks. I'm thinking like, Montreal ends up with like 7 and 15, we move 3 and 35, I'd be ok with that. I'd feel pretty confident walking away with like Dvorsky and Barlow/Reinbacher.
If we manage a 1st in 2023 for Chychrun, and if we're lucky, a 2023 1st for Gostisbehere, we could have a huge haul of high end prospects. I think that would also assist in me trading down a bit. Dvorsky, Reinbacher, Hrabal, Halttunen would be a pretty sweet package.
I think I'd be ok maintaining a similar pick ratio as the pick moved back, unless a player I really like is still on the board, and wont be later.
All that said, I'd prefer Bedard/Fantilli.
someone is going to be trading up if they think Smith is a 1C potentially. Barlow's size and if you like a D you are going to want to be in that 10-12 range to get ahead of where they are slotted to go. Maybe even the 7-10 if the small slowish wingers drop.Definitely looking at Augustine ahead of Hrabal at this point.
I wouldn’t trade down if we end up with any pick between 1-5, right now. But it’s still early. Things will change a lot.
I think I’d just take Smith, myself.someone is going to be trading up if they think Smith is a 1C potentially. Barlow's size and if you like a D you are going to want to be in that 10-12 range to get ahead of where they are slotted to go. Maybe even the 7-10 if the small slowish wingers drop.
I haven't done my list on paper just yet but I just worry about a top 6 that includes Cooley, Schmaltz, Guenther, Maccelli, Keller. Schmaltz will be moved when the cap increases is my belief but I think BA is going to be targeting size and given Barlow's play 10 game goal streak he may be rocketing up our list.I think I’d just take Smith, myself.
I think Cooley and Guenther will not be thought of as small when they’re full grown.I haven't done my list on paper just yet but I just worry about a top 6 that includes Cooley, Schmaltz, Guenther, Maccelli, Keller. If we are lucky enough to get a Bedard / Michkov super-skilled shrimp, then I could definitely see Maccelli being put on the trade market.
The kid is 22. We need talent in case you didn't notice. Let these kids get their feet wet before we even think of trading them.If we are lucky enough to get a Bedard / Michkov super-skilled shrimp, then I could definitely see Maccelli being put on the trade market.
Two years ago many wanted to trade Crouse and Fischer, and this year Hayton, but now Crouse is working his way into top six conversation. Let these kids mature. Haste makes waste. The only reason I would think of trading Schmaltz is his age for our rebuild. I think he is fine, but the way it looks BA wants picks and picks and more picks.Yeah good point. Maccelli and Schmaltz may not be long term pieces. We will need to upgrade the blueline so maybe if Maccelli has another strong season next year he is moved that following offseason. Crouse is clearly a top 6 player too so we may see skill distributed across three lines ala NJD.
I don't disagree. The kid is 22. We need talent in case you didn't notice. Let these kids get their feet wet before we even think of trading them.
I don't know crap about goalies, just threw a name I knew and wouldn't be out of place.Definitely looking at Augustine ahead of Hrabal at this point.

Coyotes: They’re actually quite worse, which is almost impressive given they’re 28th in the league standings. The Coyotes have the worst expected-goals-for percentage in the league at 39.53 and they average the fewest shots on goal per game at a meager 24. And perhaps even more alarming — or encouraging, if we’re talking tanking — they’re doing all this with a likely unsustainable 11.7 shooting percentage, second-best in the league. So how are the Coyotes only the fifth-worst team in the league? Two words: Karel Vejmelka. The second-year goalie is having a spectacular season behind an awful team, with a 9-8-3 record and 13.84 goals saved above expected, per Evolving-Hockey. That’s fifth in the league, ahead of the likes of Jake Oettinger and Igor Shesterkin. He’s singlehandedly tanking the tank.
