Well BA took Dudas and Fedotov so AZ obviously are not opposed to drafting Russians.

Here’s something for you to consider. Wayne Gretzky’s family is originally from… Russia (well technically Russians who lived in Belarus). His grandfather immigrated to Canada. The uprising before the Russian revolution led to Canada’s greatest athlete (although Iron Mike Sharpe may disagree).

On a separate note, I really like Yager. I think i will end up having him higher on my list than most.
I would think all GM's would draft a Russian if he was the best BPA. It's just me. To this day I also do not like the Islanders because they beat the Oilers first time around. I hate losing and anything that threatens that I put up a wall. That is why I hate all this talk of tanking. I know Bedard will probably be a great player, but I don't tank for any player. I don't watch Major Junior hockey and rely on you, rt, Mosby and others for insight, so keep it coming.

I honestly don't care who we get, just get a top 10 or top 5 pick. All I ask.
I think we draft 5-8 but who knows. Would be nice to win the lottery for once. Give a much needed boost for NHL in the area. New arena, good team. Is that too much to ask.

Crazy amount of Sasky boys in the top 60ish of this draft. Yager, Heidt, Price and Lind all came up playing youth hockey together. All in the same U15 league. Yager and Heidt on the same u15 team. All of them on the same AAA team. Wild.
Sasky? Come on now, you have to spell the province in full. No short cuts.;)

Winning the lottery would be f***ing great, don't get me wrong. Bedard is a near generational talent at minimum. Would love to get him and would love to finally have some bloody luck with this franchise. But I won't be too pressed about it if we don't. Unlike in 2015 the dropoff between 1st and 3rd isn't that high, you'll still potentially have the chance to get an elite player in Michkov post top 5, and the other players in the top 10 are still elite.

(I worked with a guy from Regina, that the other Canadian always called "prairie boy". Had the most Canadian name ever - Dave Lefebvre.)
We used to refer to people from Saskatchewan as “Gappers”… and then i moved there. Saskatoon is a great city. Super fun.

I'm good in all weather conditions, my wife on the other hand... Too hot? Bitches. Too cold? Bitches. Too bright? Bitches. Too wet? Bitches. I think you guys get the point, my wife is a complainer regarding weather.

I will say, cleaning ice off the windshield is annoying for a perpetually 15 minutes behind person.

Watched Moose Jaw, Kelowna, and Tri City games. I couldn’t convince myself to watch Austria get run over again at the WJC just to re-scout Reinbacher. Maybe next weekend.

I like Yager still. But he seems too much like he did last season. The issues I was happy to look past for a D-1 are still there in his DY. I think getting a lot stronger helps a lot of it, though. So that’s nice. He’s really skilled and has an amazing shot. Still a big fan.

I was a Dragicevic fan last season. I’d read a lot of negativity this season though. Calling him a 4th forward or rover. Bagging on his defensive play and decision making without the puck. Just one game, but I didn’t see any of that. I thought he was excellent. Even better than last season, all round. Very smart and effective in his own zone. Played tough, defended his goalie, killed penalties well, short passes out of danger, chipped it out under pressure. No panic. And like last year, very demonstrative kid, very expressive. Clearly just loves playing hockey. I’m going to keep a close eye on him. I think the haters are probably wrong. Again.

I liked Sloan last season. Wanted him in the middle rounds. Was shocked he went undrafted. I’d still like to use a mid round pick on him.

Cristall looked very skilled and very small and took dumb penalties and forced plays. Meh. I’ll chalk it up to a bad game.

Price has good size and when he’s skating with the puck he looks great. Looks awesome on the point with the man advantage. Head up, walking the line. Really looks the part of that modern type blueliner. Boy did he make a bunch of bone head decisions with the puck in his own zone, though. Maybe it was an off-game. But he was kind of a disaster when he needed to move the puck out of his zone or up the ice through the neutral zone. Maybe and off-night.

Thanks for this, when I watched him earlier in the year his defensive play and outlet passes were excellent.

He certainly looks like he’s capable. I won’t be surprised if the next game I watch I’m much happier with him. Similarly, there must be some truth to the negative talk on Dragicevic even if I didn’t see it in this randomly selected game.

When I lived in the "Hat", we called everyone from Saskatchewan Saskabushers. Believe it or not, I have never been to Saskatoon or Regina.

Is it true that Moose Jaw is less cold than Edmonton/Saskatoon/Winnipeg?
Every city is cold in Sask. and Alberta in the winter. You would think Edmonton would be the coldest but I think Winterpeg is the coldest. You guys bitch about the heat in Arizona, but let me tell ya, the cold that these cities experience is hard to explain if you have never experienced it.
