I would think all GM's would draft a Russian if he was the best BPA. It's just me. To this day I also do not like the Islanders because they beat the Oilers first time around. I hate losing and anything that threatens that I put up a wall. That is why I hate all this talk of tanking. I know Bedard will probably be a great player, but I don't tank for any player. I don't watch Major Junior hockey and rely on you, rt, Mosby and others for insight, so keep it coming.Well BA took Dudas and Fedotov so AZ obviously are not opposed to drafting Russians.
Here’s something for you to consider. Wayne Gretzky’s family is originally from… Russia (well technically Russians who lived in Belarus). His grandfather immigrated to Canada. The uprising before the Russian revolution led to Canada’s greatest athlete (although Iron Mike Sharpe may disagree).
On a separate note, I really like Yager. I think i will end up having him higher on my list than most.
I think we draft 5-8 but who knows. Would be nice to win the lottery for once. Give a much needed boost for NHL in the area. New arena, good team. Is that too much to ask.I honestly don't care who we get, just get a top 10 or top 5 pick. All I ask.
A brief reminder that's true of everyone. Best case scenario involves equivalent of winning two coin flips simultaneously.Edit: Wrong thread, point stands though, we'll need a lottery win to get Bedard.
Sasky? Come on now, you have to spell the province in full. No short cuts.Crazy amount of Sasky boys in the top 60ish of this draft. Yager, Heidt, Price and Lind all came up playing youth hockey together. All in the same U15 league. Yager and Heidt on the same u15 team. All of them on the same AAA team. Wild.
Maybe if we draft all four of them (which would be awesome).Sasky? Come on now, you have to spell the province in full. No short cuts.
Hey J53, we're the Coyotes, sorry it is too much to ask...I think we draft 5-8 but who knows. Would be nice to win the lottery for once. Give a much needed boost for NHL in the area. New arena, good team. Is that too much to ask.
(I worked with a guy from Regina, that the other Canadian always called "prairie boy". Had the most Canadian name ever - Dave Lefebvre.)Crazy amount of Sasky boys in the top 60ish of this draft.
We used to refer to people from Saskatchewan as “Gappers”… and then i moved there. Saskatoon is a great city. Super fun.(I worked with a guy from Regina, that the other Canadian always called "prairie boy". Had the most Canadian name ever - Dave Lefebvre.)
Jamie (who I am going to unblock come to think of it) convinced me I wanted to live there. Then someone told me about the mosquitoes and I changed my mind.We used to refer to people from Saskatchewan as “Gappers”… and then i moved there. Saskatoon is a great city. Super fun.
Its the cold i hate.Jamie (who I am going to unblock come to think of it) convinced me I wanted to live there. Then someone told me about the mosquitoes and I changed my mind.
Is it true that Moose Jaw is less cold than Edmonton/Saskatoon/Winnipeg?Its the cold i hate.
Thanks for this, when I watched him earlier in the year his defensive play and outlet passes were excellent.Price has good size and when he’s skating with the puck he looks great. Looks awesome on the point with the man advantage. Head up, walking the line. Really looks the part of that modern type blueliner. Boy did he make a bunch of bone head decisions with the puck in his own zone, though. Maybe it was an off-game. But he was kind of a disaster when he needed to move the puck out of his zone or up the ice through the neutral zone. Maybe and off-night.
He certainly looks like he’s capable. I won’t be surprised if the next game I watch I’m much happier with him. Similarly, there must be some truth to the negative talk on Dragicevic even if I didn’t see it in this randomly selected game. Thanks for this, when I watched him earlier in the year his defensive play and outlet passes were excellent.
Canada’s most notorious city? They get a bit of the chinooks every now and then so possiblyIs it true that Moose Jaw is less cold than Edmonton/Saskatoon/Winnipeg?
When I lived in the "Hat", we called everyone from Saskatchewan Saskabushers. Believe it or not, I have never been to Saskatoon or Regina. We used to refer to people from Saskatchewan as “Gappers”… and then i moved there. Saskatoon is a great city. Super fun.
Every city is cold in Sask. and Alberta in the winter. You would think Edmonton would be the coldest but I think Winterpeg is the coldest. You guys bitch about the heat in Arizona, but let me tell ya, the cold that these cities experience is hard to explain if you have never experienced it.Is it true that Moose Jaw is less cold than Edmonton/Saskatoon/Winnipeg?
