6 for 10+25

10: Wallinder (RD)
12: Simashev (LD)
25: Strbak (RD)
38: Stramel (C)
^ Good players but a no from me. I think we need at least one of the available top forwards (prefer two} with 6&12. We can focus heavy on defense after that and next year.
St. Louis would need to add as well. I don't think 10+25 is enough for 6.

In a draft that is supposedly one of the best in a decade for forwards ,I think we fail here I don't think we should be going for Dmen . Next year's draft supposedly has better D-men - wait for that imo . And I could be wrong as I dont know enough about the prospects like you guys do .. but I would not be a happy camper .

Nope...can't do that.

We've got Lamoreaux coming, Duda coming, no need to spend on Dmen in a heavy Forward draft

Strbak is a 2nd rounder for sure...you don't move from #6...unless you know you're going to get Leonard/Dvorsky/Benson with pick #8 or pick #10. Have to get a top end Forward with 1st pick. After that if they want to select Def, then that is fine.

“It’s a smaller group in terms of height,” Plandowski said. “The next thing is that it’s pretty forward heavy.”
“If you’re small and you’re really good, nobody even knows how big you are,” Plandowski said. “Nobody realizes how tall Sidney Crosby or Brayden Point or Brad Marchand is, or in the old days, Marty St. Louis. None of them are very tall, but they’re all really good.”
Benson?
“As it pertains to six and 12, we know we’re gonna get two real good players,” associate director of amateur scouting Ryan Jankowski said. “But overall, this draft might be a little bit deeper than last year’s so when we get to our next pick at 38 we’re going to get another really solid prospect. It’s a nice haul for us to get three.”
“If we can find a defenseman that we can add to it, we’ve definitely got to think about it,” Plandowski said. “But we also know that next year looks like it’s going to be a way better draft for defensemen so we can plan a year or two down the road for the pipeline, which we’ve been doing by evaluating defensemen that are still 16.
“Obviously, we’d want to get a defenseman in there somewhere, so if we take two forwards with our two first picks because of the nature of the draft, we’re going to be looking at guys that we still have left on our board that we can add to our group of defensemen.”
“We have guidelines as a staff that we work with; what we expect at that level of picking,” Armstrong said. “There’s different ranges in the draft. We stick to those standards in different ranges. We don’t veer from them.”

Can anyone tell me why etienne morin is rated in the 3rd round? I’ve not seen him play but he’s put up monster numbers in the Q. Is he suspect at Defense?

Hey folks , how would you rank Jake Neighbors from St Louis in this draft ?

I heard a rumour ( maybe Friedman? ) that St Louis wants to go all in on Michkov .. as they believe he is a whole Tier above the rest of the field starting at 2 and I am curious what a hypothetical trade to the Yotes would look like?

I think I’d need 10th and Neighbours for 6th alone.

So what are the rules exactly? I think (according to Dr Google )if we draft Michkov … we have to sign him within 2 years … or he re enters the draft and then we would receive a 2nd round pick in the same spot as our first .. so 6th. He plans to stay over there for at least 3 years .. It definitely is a risk..

(If that is true I guess we need to sign Cooley next year for sure…) Kind of a sucky rule if true..

No, I think we retain his rights til he's 27. Just have to offer him a contract.

Different rules for where you are drafted from and age. The one you quoted are for jr hockey players.
