Anyone listen to the draft interviews on the Athletic podcast with Tom Willander, Gabe Perreault, and Dalibor Dvorsky? Willander was very impressive. I don’t know about the offense, but somebody is going to get a great person and player.

Last year we had to rely on an accidentally back-door hack to get access. They published a very tiny snippet of information but somebody did something I can’t remember (maybe took some guess on the URL or login credentials maybe) and was able to get full access. I had access. But I don’t remember how. Haha. Hopefully it wasn’t me that figured it out. Hopefully somebody else did and remembers.

Just take the player u want. Unless we have a guy that nobody is ranking in top 20 in our top 10 don’t chance it. We already have a crapload of picks.

There's going to be great players available at 21. If I'm Minny, I'd find a team desperate for more picks. Like hbk said above, we're stacked with picks and probably aren't hunting for more. I wouldn't quit on Calen Addison this soon either.
Your offer seems too rich for Minny to package to only move from 21 to 12. Having said that, I still pass.

^ I think Smith is nervous. I’ve seen him be very endearing in interviews. A little funny. Down to earth. But he seems quite the opposite here. And I wonder if those rumors were about him. He seems like the villain preppy from the 80s teen rom com. But I’ve seen other interviews where he’s much more chill.

I figure we're more likely to package later picks to move up than to take more picks in exchange for moving down. We need quality, not quantity at this stage in the rebuild. We've already got a lot of picks stockpiled over the next few years.

Anyone who likes the NHL draft should listen to this entire show. Great stuff. That Tom Willander is EXTREMELY impressive in his interview.

The main guest Max Geise was an HFBoards poster for a long time before he became a scout. He was basically a child prodigy of scouting. He was just a kid and was posting amazing reports all the time. Turned it into a decade long career as an NHL amateur scout and now he’s working for an agency scouting clients. Unreal.
