Listening to Chris Peters he thinks Will Smith is a “line-driving” center, he says a lot of scouts he has talked to don’t agree and think his value will be better served at wing. Since Carlsson has not played center all year, he’s getting the chance right now at the World Championship, that evaluation should factor in.As much as I don't think Carlsson drops past 3 I feel like CBJ may love Smith since he's a true center. They have a great two-way center in Sillinger and a top 3C in Rosvolic.
Sign me up. I'd add to it even if we needed, another 2nd in 24 or preferably 25.4th and 26th for 6th, 12th and FLA’s ‘24 2nd?
6. Reinbacher 12. Colby Barlow 38. David Edstrom (with Strbak next pick)
Our young, cheap, staring goalie just to move up some spots? I don’t know man. I don’t think the difference between 38 and 23 is Vejmelka. I would guess he’s got to be worth at least a 38th pick all on his own. Probably close to a 23rd pick, I’d hope.a conversation I had with a Columbus fan about the 38th and Vejmelka for LA's 1st, 23rd.
I think we have narrowed it down to a likely list of 3-5 names. Wheeler was making noise in his athletic piece that our scouts like Dvorsky. BA definitely referenced Leonard. If those are both off the table we have a very good and likely preferred option of Michkov. We are in a good spot. We’ve seen the interviews in the past Coyotes set a list and don’t deviate on draft day.Seeing Leonard, Benson, and Dvorsky go immediately after week pick Reinbacher would be pretty depressing.

Mock draft but i’m certain i have seen another piece which my memory is telling me was Wheeler. I will have to look for it.Which Wheeler piece?
Diving Deeper Into The Transitional Numbers
Wrong. He was arguably the player who was most relied upon for exits, and had his fair share of entries as well. Starting with exits, he was directly involved in 27 exit attempts. Of those 27, they were able to successfully exit, with possession, on 19 of them (70.37% rate). That high rate of attempts is second to only Bedard (22 in three games).
As for his entries, he was involved directly in 25 entry attempts. Of those, he successfully generated 16 controlled zone entries (64% rate). He’s behind only Smith, Bedard and Zach Benson in the class, amongst players that have been tracked. What’s even more impressive is the seven rush chances he generated off of those 16 entries, which ranked second only to Bedard (10), again.
Yager wasn’t there. Moore was. Would be cool to get Leonard and Moore.BA was also likely referencing Moore and Yager. I'd be thrilled with any 2 of those 3.

Ryan Leonard is a near-consensus top-15 draft choice. Last word looks at the positives and negatives of his game.lastwordonsports.com
Hope it happens.
So what about the 6th & Vejjie for the 3rd?Seeing Leonard, Benson, and Dvorsky go immediately after week pick Reinbacher would be pretty depressing.

Too far in the other direction, value-wise.So what about the 6th & Vejjie for the 3rd?
I doubt they entertain that.So what about the 6th & Vejjie for the 3rd?
Yeah, I doubt that Smith ends up 6th. My thinking was Carlsson for Vejjie and Smith. Maybe we can entice the Habs to swap spots 1st and then trade the 5th and Vejjie? I know too many ifs...Too far in the other direction, value-wise.
I’m not as high on Carlsson as you guys are.6th, 12th & Vejjie for the 3rd?
Seems crazy but I'd do it.
If we came away with Dvorsky and Leonard I would be ecstaticBut when we can take Dvorsky at #6 and then move up 4 spots to take Leonard at #8 or 2 spots to take Leonard at #10
That sounds a whole lot better than trading back to get Yager and then some other guys. We have a tremendous amount of draft capital, it's about time we began using it to move up to get the better player.
If it's a move to 2 or 1, absolutely. I'm pretty happy to stay where we are, unless a good opportunity presents itself to move up from 12 to 7-9. I've warmed quite a bit to Leonard the past few months. I still take Benson as I have him 3, but I'm not mad with a Leonard pick.I'd rather keep the 6th & 12th than combine them both to move up a few spots. Nevermind adding more.
I agree with all of this. Unless it were for Bedard or Fantilli I'd rather have two quality prospects with those picks. Even though I think we need more quality than quantity at this stage, we have the opportunity to get quality in quantity in the first round this year.If it's a move to 2 or 1, absolutely. If we take Reinbacher at 6 than I may throw a small fit.
48:25 mark…“…I’m talking to people around the league…I don’t have this player rated that high but there are A LOT people in the league who have Ryan Leonard rated highly. Frankly, as Chris (Peters) mentioned there are those that would have him in that same discussion as Will Smith, frankly, on that same US team. There’s some people who just absolutely ADORE Ryan Leonard. There’s a decent chance could go ahead of Michkov…”
That would be VERY fun.I really think we're going to get both Dvorsky & Leonard
I can see BA working w/teams in front of us to move up 2 or 4 spots and get Leonard after taking Dvorsky at #6
Washington doesn't have the assets but I would think they'd be all over Philly for that Michkov pick. I'd love to see it played out though to acquire both Leonard and Dvorsky. That would be VERY fun.
Say we pass on Michkov at 6th by picking Dvorsky, ensuring Philly takes him 7th, which opens us up to trade with a depressed (having just missed Michkov) Washington team at 8th (they could use some pick volume). 12th+38th+72nd (their own 3rd from the Johan Larsson trade) for 8th overall?
Basically means we got Leonard and a 2nd for Chychrun and Johan Larsson. Haha.
Hmm is Carlson that good , that he is worth more than the 2 players we could draft at 6 and 12?4th and 26th for 6th, 12th and FLA’s ‘24 2nd?
Don’t ask me. I have Benson ahead of him. So what do I know?Hmm is Carlson that good , that he is worth more than the 2 players we could draft at 6 and 12?
I am guessing* yes, I just don’t know personally
I kind of figured Bedard and FantilII were the ones you would try that to
