He’s why we needed to finish dead last. Would have guaranteed him as a worse case scenario
Yeah but I still think getting Benson or Smith is right there with Carlsson. Michkov is probably a better pick than Fantilli if we can somehow get him here. BA will probably play it safe and take Oliver Moore if Smith and Benson are gone by our pick if we stay at six which is unlikely.

Yeah I can't believe there's any scenario where he slips past Washington. Them missing the playoffs immediately ruined any chances, slight as they were, of Michkov sliding down to the Ottawa pick. It's #6 or no Michkov...I'm pretty torn there. The uncertainty combined with Coyotes legendary knack for having things not go their way makes me think they should stay away from him but then again they also are completely incompetent at tanking so this is pretty much the only way they'll ever score a franchise level talent. It's the typical Coyote Conundrum!
Putin might let him go to NHL sooner of hes joining Ovie!!!! 😉

You keep forgetting that two of Philadelphia, Washington, Detroit, St. Louis and Vancouver are going to win the lotteries. So we will be picking 8th and 12th. ;)

Honestly, as long as Ottawa doesn’t win the lottery, I’m happy.

I do think there's a slight chance of him dropping a bit with Benson for starters still being able to show of just how good he is in the playoffs and others still having a few more chances to show off. Though I doubt he gets passed by the Sharks.

I’ve got a question maybe @mouser knows? Not exactly CBA but when it comes to the 10 spot move up limit, what happens if the #12 team wins the 1st overall lottery and moves up to #2 because of the limit, then another team (other than the 32nd team) wins the lottery for #2? Does the team that won the 1st overall drawing get knocked down to #3 and the team that won the 1st overall get #2 and the 32nd team, who didn’t win anything, gets to retain #1 by default?

Say for laughs, Ottawa wins the pick for 1st overall and AZ wins the pick for 2nd overall. Who then picks 3rd? AZ or Ottawa?

I would think that Ottawa gets pick #2 and Arizona would get pick #3...but we need @mouser to chime in

Of course, it could also be that both lotteries is the possibility of moving up 10 spots, so in theory, if Ottawa wins and picks #2 and then Arizona wins lottery #2, we would move up to #1

I don't know...again, need @mouser to come to the rescue

If Ottawa wins the #1 they move up their ten spots and pick #2 and the lottery is over with no second drawing. This is exactly why they do the #1 drawing first.

Really?!?!? The 15 other teams just magically lose their chance? That sucks. For everyone but Anaheim.

So what if Buffalo wins #1 and moves up to #3? Then do they draw for #2 in that case?

Yes, they would still have the second lottery because Ottawa would have a chance to draft #4.
I'm pretty sure the #12 team winning the number one lottery is the only situation where they cancel the second drawing. Don't quote me but it only makes sense.

According to article I posted if Ottawa wins 1st pick they move to 2nd pick. Anaheim picks 1st, Ottawa 2nd, and there is still a lottery for 3rd pick.

I guess it's possible and only fair. I read a long discussion on it about a year ago on Reddit. It made sense to me at the time but who knows.

Yeah I don't know if author is legit but it's all I have seen on the possibility?
