More and more I hear Moore to the Wings
Moore will bring Moore speed and Moore goals. I like him Moore than Smith some nights. I don't get how there isn't Moore hype around him. I wish he had Moore good linemates.

It's from last month but this Reinbacher clip shows his offensive ability.

Player Profile : David Reinbacher - Recruit Scouting

2023 NHL DRAFT: EARLY SEASON FAVOURITES SERIES WITH VIDEO - SWITZERLAND - David Reinbacher

Easily my favorite defender at the draft. I think he goes in the #5-7 range though. He's got all the tools you want in a modern top pair defender and is decently physical in the showings I've seen.

Fine with him going before we pick and sliding a forward down. Next year's draft should be much better for defenseman, if we want to go that route.

He's been one of my favorites for us for awhile. Would fit well with Larkin/Kasper.

I want to agree with you but I also think that if by some crazy circumstance Reinbacher slips past 10 and Detroit picks 11th, I run to the stage for Reinbacher.

Personally, I think Reinbacher gets selected in the 5-7 range. Maybe even as high as 4th if someone doesn't want to gamble on Michkov. If Montreal passes him at 7 (their current rank) I would be absolutely shocked.

In my opinion Reinbacher is right below where I'd be comfortable with picking him. Will I be mad if we pick him? No, RD is a need in the system. However I think there will be better wingers and centers available. Unless we climb in the standings a bit.

We have much bigger needs than RD. You can find third pair/depth RD players by avenues other than the draft.

I ended up with Moore as well.

1. Oliver Moore
2. Timur Mukhanov
2. Noah Dower-Nilsson
3. Tom Willander
4. Felix Nilsson (no way he drops this much in the draft.)
5. Nick Lardis
6. Bronson Ride
7. Noa Vali

I'm expecting Detroit to get 3 more picks (minimum) by the draft so this could be a very fun one. Also if we ended up with that draft I would be dancing.

We've got Hronek, Seider, Raymond, and Berggren all RFAs in 2 years. (How Hronek is an RFA at 26 idk but that's what capfriendly says). Wouldn't be surprised if Hronek ends up being a cap casualty unless he plays lights out and forces us to make room for him. Would be nice to have some top 4 rd in the system for that reason.

I have thought he has played well enough this year to be part of our long term plans, but that's me.

Having two young RD that move the puck as well as Seider and Hronek are one of the brightest spots we have, IMO.

I think it is totally possible Reinbacher is underappreciated in this draft and better than I realize, but even if true I just don't see that being what makes the most sense for us with where we are. Especially when I think this draft has 10-15 forwards that have really good upside and we have a much clearer need in that regard.

I mean we sit here and say how we lack goalscoring and need another PPG player and then talk about using our top pick on a RD... yeah I don't get it.

This is the current mock draft on Tankathon, thoughts?

I'd be angry.

Also no way Arizona picks Michkov. They'd have his rights for 3 years and then he walks and signs with the Rangers or a high profile club.

What else do they do? I can't see anyone passing on Michkov in the 4 slot for the alternative options. Just too big of a gap.

Like I said, they can pick him. I would bet money he never plays a single game in an Arizona jersey.

He's got his KHL contract to 2026 which is when Arizona would have to sign him or lose his NHL rights. Would you, as THE marquee name in NHL free agency sign with a hopeless team in a college arena like Arizona? Or would you say screw that, I'm taking a 1 year deal with another team that will back up a brinks truck AND give him a real chance at winning AND the opportunity to live in New York or California?

Tankathon mocks simply slot the players to the spot and as the team order changes, that's who gets the player. So if Detroit was in the 12 spot, they would be taking Moore and if they were 14 they would be taking Heidt. That mock is literally worthless.

I did a quick FC sim and ended up with Dvorsky, But, and Rehkopf for the first 2 rounds. Dont look know but Dvorsky is heating up and has updated measurements on EP. He's now 6'1 and over 200 as a kid that hasnt even turned 18 yet. Putting up 2 ppg in the u20 league....he has the skill... skating and pace can be worked on. Rehkopf was pretty impressive during that CHL top prospects game....wouldnt mind him in the 2nd at all. But let's be real, after that 1st rounder, we're more likely to draft Taint Bengstromsson or some other name we've never heard of and nobody will be happy with.
