The more I think about, the more I’m hoping that Leonard slips to us at 9. I just love the idea of his tenacity on the Wing with Marco Kasper. Just watching us get bullied by tougher teams and then watching the playoffs this year, i love the idea of having more guys that not only have skill and scoring ability, but also that determination and nastiness to make us that much harder to play against.

Having said that, after watching this video, I’d be okay getting Danielson with one of our picks (I realize he isnt exactly what I was preaching about in my paragraph above):

Im right there with you regarding Leonard. The likes of him, Kasper and Mazur on a line… just sounds miserable.

I haven’t really watched him much either since he’s a guy that seemed like a late first/early second to me. But here are a couple of his scouting reports.

I think I have similar thoughts on Honzek. Maybe I need to see a hyped up highlights video instead of game tape, but he looks so meh out there all the time. No skill really pops and I don't see much intensity either. I could see it if the projection is that he's really lanky and the x factor will show through once he adds strength? Feels like a Jack Finley type prospect.

This is how you build a roster that's a nightmare come playoff time. There's also the fact that we have quite a few giant young defenders too. The type of team Stevie is building is on point.
I’m here for it.

Looking at who I want for our pick at 17. Starting to really warm up to Barlow.

I value the opinions of the folks of hockeyprospect.com over that of “yard barker” (never heard of that before in my life) by a lot.

So Dvorsky@9 Honzek@17 Strbak and Ciernik in 2nd round. Let the Slovaks roll in!
Seriously tho Honzek suddenly jumping to top 10 sounds a bit crazy, maybe @17? Strbak is interesting too, you guys think he makes it to 41?
Another interesting target for 2nd round would be Halttunen. Didn't think he would be there but seems to be slipping a bit on rankings so maybe. Really high potential, has all the tools just questionable if he figures it out and reaches that potential, but the tools are there for a high scoring player.

Finally watched Bogdan Konyushkov . Not big only 5'11" not fast, just average, not physical, but extremely smart , Igor Larionov version, his coach, just defenseman not a center. That was playoff game against CKA . Pretty much #1 defenseman for his team. 20 years old , but looks like veteran

The play at 4:56... He reminds me of Beniers when he carries the puck.

Honzek missed U20 because of injury,
Missed a month of WHL because of injury
Missed 2-3 Games because of another injury
Missed U18 (Because of age)
Missed WC (Wasn't invited)

So He played only 47 games this season this was also his first season in NA.

Kid has potential but Top 10 would be a big gamble.

Pronman’s big ranking dropped in the athletic today. As always a couple of head scratchers in rank/skill evaluation, but I’ve noticed in recent years he’s said he’s “come around on guys after talking to league sources”, which makes me think his lists are trending toward becoming a hybrid of a Bob type ranking and a personal ranking.

Couple of popular names he ranked below our 41, 42, 43 picks: Cristall, Heidt, Halttunen, Pekarcik, Nilsson, Perron, Ziemmer, Lardis, Unger Sorum, Dower Nilsson, and Sawchyn

Man if we went RHD, bigger forward, then Cristall, Heidt, Sawchyn second round…

Agreed, Pronman really went with more of a consensus ranking this year.

The only outliers I notice in the 1st round … He is a lot higher then most on But and Simashev (both top 10) And lower on Benson. Everything else seems inline.

No faith at all in Cristall, but a lot of people lost faith after the WHL playoffs and his U18 tourny. Still 3rd round might surprise some.

If Cristall available in 40ies , just grab him. I could see Simashev top 10 , but not Daniel But
