I need to sit down and actually do my ranking. After the EP draft guide I'll have a better idea. But right now Danielson is looking like he's in the 8 to 13 range for me.
Not at you in particular, but with this draft class I'm expecting a ton of fans for just about every team to be absolutely stunned at "their guy" still being on the board. Plenty of good options, and it will be fun to see how it all unfolds for who moves up to snag their target and who lets everybody fall in their lap.

Would you be happier with:

Danielsson+Honzek+Dvorak+Haulttunen+Whitelaw

or

Moore+Willander+Dower Nilsson+Fikser Molgaard+Perron

??

None of the above combos. .

Nilsson is a guy that should be considered in the 30-45 range. Willander is another guy I look at in the 18-25 range. OFM and NDN solidly 32-50.

My most ideal draft would look like this:

#9 Reinbacher (or Leonard)
#17 Danielson
#40 Willander
#41 NDN
#42 Nilsson

Buuut...I don't think that happens unless Detroit makes some moves.

Definitely. This draft was always considered a really deep class.
Further out it was compared to the 2003 draft with a plethora of high end quality and depth of prospects not seen in years.

But as the draft has gotten closer it seems that the praise for this class has gone down some. I still view this as a very good draft.

Always going to be some grenades mixed in, but so much opportunity to grab talent this year.

I'll be very happy with Danielson at 9 and Willander at 17. Vegas and Florida have shown the game is all about relentless forechecking, especially when you dont have the top top talent.
relentless forechecking is the backbone of hockey and most of the time, top line forwards just don't do that.

Montreal is another good example. They never have superstars on their team, but they are always on that a** and are just annoying to play. Now, if you could just get one star player (maybe two) that loves to score goals and forechecks at at least 75% effort level, you got yourself a team.

i was pretty high on danielson at the start of the year. Was in my top 5 i’d say but i was pretty disappointed with the production. He did not get much help mind you so. I’d be fine with him at 9 but he’s would be ecstatic at 17

So like Frk it and I said, it was tops on his team. Danielson's team is pretty low scoring and it looks like he was doing it on his own for most of the year.

To put it into context, Danielson outproduced Conor Geekie while playing on a much worse team. There were a lot of people on here pulling for Geekie over Kasper (for some reason) and Danielson is a WAY better skater than Geekie.

Again, if I'm looking at a stylistic comparison I'm leaning towards Tyler Seguin or Dylen Cozens in his draft year.

I agree.

I do not see us taking both NDN and Nilsson though. My ideal draft is similar to yours:

Reinbacher, Wood/Brindley/Danielson, Willander, Nilsson, Halttunen

I just dont see Willander lasting to our 2nd round picks.

Nilsson and Noah Dower-Nilsson are very different players though. And both are 3 to 5 year projects. I think both have top 6 potential but NDN is the safer bet, while if we're looking at total upside I think Felix Nilsson could become a real top line player. (Though I think those chances are slim)

Brindley is another one I really like but he also probably goes between 20 and 35. If Detroit can trade 2 of their 2nds and get into the mid-late 1st then I think that would be the better option. A 1st round of Danielson/Dvorsky, Willander and Brindley/Stenberg/Haltunen/Barlow sounds pretty good to me.

You're right, and he probably doesn't last past 20. He's a big, very mobile, very steady defender. Guys like that don't usually last long unless they have glaring warts. The big worry I have is that he becomes another Lindstrom.

IMO, his IQ is a lot higher than Lindstrom's.
