WC: 2023 Czech Team



This is our third 1C so far in the tournament.lol Sedlak got hurt. Chytil got hurt. Welcome Spacek.lol

No Chytil today!!!! Not good and I'm a bit surprised. Not Sedlak and it doesn't look good. On a good note, the hot rumour is that Radim Zohorna can fly in and might be the replacement. I'm a big Radim fan and would love that! He'll be back in Europe next year and, I imagine (like Frk and Galvas) will have a very strong year and the Euro's will wonder where they came from.

Vejmelka starts against Slovenia.. watch him let in a stinker and be benched for the rest of the tourney.
 
I think, that Chytil got butthurt, otherwise idfk what happend. He does not need jaw or teeth for playing hockey, kids these days are so soft. Also Jalonen is joke, hope he gets fired worst performance, refusing vrana and worst performance i´ve ever seen.
 
I know that there was a lot of hype around him lately, but Vozenilek clearly doesnt have the quality level to play at WCH.

Its really funny, how we cant bring Galvas, because there was no time to test him, but we are not afraid to take Vozenilek based on one good match he played in the pre tournament lol.

I'm tired of the 'it's that guy' routine from our team!

The goalie selection is stuipd... that's Orct!
The PP sucks.. That's Erat!
No NHLers came... That's Havlat!
The D sucks... I forgot who it is

Also, Zidlicky is an assistant GM.. he was hired with Havlat, what the f*** does he do?

Just constant redirections... if I understand it correctly, Jalononen's job is to count super chances. No one is in charge of anything and they all just assign blame. Eg. I don't like Orct but I hate how he was thrown under the bus by his coach.

Or that Radim Zohorna can fly right in and join the roster. But eveyrone else needs to play at least 3 EHT events.

No one will convince me that Galvas wouldn't have helped our offence.

Plus of course we fired Svozil after one bad match, even though he could just have been jetleged of had a bad day. He could have been great in the next matches, but we will never know, because we only have faith and patience with euro guys lol, more especially elh guys
 
Why did the Czechs get so little buy in from the guys that would be on the "A" team to come along? I guess waiting for Prague next year? Their roster looks much weaker on paper than usual this year.
 
Well something to think about this match.

The first 30-35 minutes were absolutelly terrible. 3rd period was phenomenal and we showed strenght there. But why was that?

Something I think it was Pospisil said at the end of the game really struck my interest. He said "after we finally started to play offensively, the Ds was more up front and were pressuring more, it was miles better and much more fun to watch". And thats the big issue.

Maybe lot of you wont agree, but I still think Kari should end after this WCH and we need a coach which will encourage the "offensive" style, we are better that way I think. That Kari defensive system is just not suited for us.

Agree Finns are much better at this, our style was allways more of a russian offensive style with great goalie, but majority of our strength came from KHL and our league, which is nonexistent right now...
 
In the end, Vejmelka is ok, maybe he will stay there, it can probably support him a lot mentally. But otherwise, the nerves with such an opponent, this was a horror...

Now imagine is Sedlak came back and Chytil rejoined? We do have a nice offence.

It'd be a real competitive top 6 to be honest! Hopefully Satruday. I'd love to see Zohorna but I want Sedlak back.

And Chytil, I saw him in tv from the shoots from the locker room after the Slovenia game. His mouth looks crazy lol, but otherways he looked ok, so I hope ha can get ready for those important matches
 
Soo Swiss really helped us today and if my calculations is right then if we dont f*** up the Norway game, we will clinch the qf spot before the last two games, which would be great.

So guys I beg you. No more f*** ups like the Latvia game or todays first period and a nice clean win over Norway so we can play those last two matches without stress.

We're in good shape for making the quarters. I'm not too worried about that. I hope Slovakia goes on a run now and racks up the points. I don't think Latvia is a guarantee to run the table and are in a lot of trouble. Time will tell.

The thing we need most is some good health.. Chytil, Sedlak, Smejkal and Chlapik are all not 100%... got a few more days here to get it all back together. Our training staff may be the real team MVPS at this point.lol

Just remembered two more positives. We are undefeated in regulation time! We have come back twice after trailing!

Many apologies from players (hard to say what the exact reason was, Czechs like to represent their country. Except for Zacha..lol), some players injured. Unfortunately, we do not have such a wide staff to be able to fully replace the absences. Next year will certainly be different and hopefully all available players will want to play. And I think that the other teams, as always strong, will go to the Czech Republic for the championship.

With 3pts win over Norway (tomorrow) we'll be locked for QF 👍 Slovakia can't be better than us. And even if CZE, SVK and LAT will all have same amount of points (13 for example) we are best among them (CZE 4pts, SVK 3pts and LAT 2pts).
Thanks god 🙏to be in hypothetical situation where you need to win (or gez some points) against CAN or SUI could be deadly 😂

Canada needs 2 more points from last 3 matches to be locked aswell. They also defeated Slovakia. So again 13 points for them means QF. And 1 more point for SUI ...

Well, be careful, there is still Latvia, who can have 14 points. They play two matches with outsiders and the last one with Switzerland, who may not lose the last match.
