WC: 2023 Czech Team

Well, be careful, there is still Latvia, who can have 14 points. They play two matches with outsiders and the last one with Switzerland, who may not lose the last match.
Yes but they already are in TOP 4 ... They can better than us, but not Slovakia if we will have 13 pts. At worst we will be 4th. 13 pts means QF for us, if we'll be 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th we'll see on tuesday.

Yeah, you're right, I obviously messed up the numbers:laugh:

You seem to come on here to attack posters. I'm not big on Czech on Czech violence. Take care.
That was a joke….Sure, my first reaction wasn’t fair towards you. It simply remained in my cell phone and I accidentally posted entire answer. Should I delete part towards you? i should. But it was too late and I tried to apologize for it. But I am not here to attacking posters. Fact, that I do not agree with many things and from time to time share my opinion does not mean I am attacking anybody. Same if I said that some people comming here just to vent current frustration.

Unfortunately, the worst possible scenario came true. Both Sedlak and Chytil end. This championship was really cursed..

With Chytil: He was wearing special glasses, so probably the injury is negatively affecting his vision. Perhaps it is something connected to tear formation. It would be possible, the face is a complicated system with so many neural connections and a bad hit on above the mouth can indeed cause such effect. It is extreme pity for both Filip and the team. Of course they will need to play a different hockey now, much more defensive.

80 tough matches in NHL this season and you are seriously hurt in "easy peasy" match vs Kazakhstan 😂 injuries sometimes don't make sense 😂

Unfortunately, we are not able to qualitatively replace Chytil and even Sedlák. Now we can only surprise. And yes, our tactics will be even more defensive..

Very probably the Rangers had something to say in that process.
Once again: No need for conspiracy theories.
Face injuries are extremely tricky. You can get four teeth knocked out and be ok in an hour, and you can also get a "normal" hit on the cheek and be out for two weeks because it damages some important nerves. Fighters could tell us something about this. I can understand it may be looking counterintuitive for some people, but the face anatomy really is extremely complicated and it doesn't work like "the harder the punch = the more of blood = the more serious injury". Not at all.

Players from the tournament are sent home by the IIHF doctor, right? So I doubt the Rangers have that much influence.
I think the NHL-orgranisation could prevent someone from playing if he's banged up. I know that in the Semisfinal 2018 Josi broke a finger and the Swiss team had to check with the Preds if Josi is allowed to play in the final.

When a player is to be replaced, his injury has to be evaluated by the official IIHF doctor, not just the team doctor. NHL clubs have no word in this. Plus, Chytil's injury has just been publicly disclosed and it is obvious to everybody with basic high school knowledge of human anatomy that it is impossible to play games with such injury. There is no room left for speculation.

Yeah, I didn't know the severity of the injury at that point. ;)

But I'm pretty sure, if an NHL-player is a little bit banged up, means an injury which you could play the NHL-organization has something to say about playing.

NHL clubs can contact the team officials and ask them to not send the player on the ice. This is what they can do and the team usually says OK, because they want to maintain good relationship with the club. But I highly doubt they can do the same with the IIHF officials.

Above all, Chytil's injury basically means he can't open his mouth properly, and it is obviously not possible to play hockey with one's mouth shut and with a resting pokerface.

And we got Lenc in replace, there was seriously no one better there? As someone said, now we are sadly more on par with weaker nations like Latvia, Slovakia, Germany in terms of strength. Sure we can suprise, but from a point of quality we really cant expect much from this team, its too average.

Dont f*** up the Norway game, so we at least advance to qf and this disaster of a tournament dont end up with embarassment,

Like seriously no one from those NHL guys who declined for the first time could not pity on us and come after all? We still dont want Vrana?? what the hell ...

And dont give me that bs that we need centers, what we need mostly is some QUALITY. And Lenc is also a winger.

And of course Zohorna can come without being tested, but we could not bring Galvas. There is literally nothing to like about how this team is being made and led.

Considering these additional injuries on top of the other injuries and the qualitative and psychological impact on the team, I won’t harshly criticise them again. QF under these circumstances is a perfectly respectable result.

I would divide it into two parts. The game against Latvia and Slovenia (for two thirds) was really tragic and the fact that we were missing key players cannot be an excuse for that. Second, nobody can really expect big results from that team now. It can also have a positive side. The stress can fall from the team and they can just surprise. But first, we have to advance to the quarterfinals. We have to play much better than the last two games.

They were looking for players who are not on holiday and who are still in good shape after season 😂 and Lenc was probably at home and worked out daily in the gym 👍🤪 no way all players from that "substitution list" were available. Lenc was probably BPA.

Edit: Lenc is already flying to Riga and Radim Zohorna is not confirmed yet. He's only possibility (maybe wish). Havlat is yet gonna ask him. Zohorna's big plus is, he played his last match only 2 days ago in AHL 👍
