MacKinnon Doesn't Want OT Increased to 10 Minutes

Trying to go 1 on 3 every opportunity does seem like it would be exhausting...

But yea this has always been the sticking point as far as I know. The PA doesn't want games to be longer. Believe this has been the case since before 3 on 3, when the idea was being floated of doing 5 minutes of 4 on 4, and then 5 minutes of 3 on 3. PA didn't want the extra 5 minutes so they just skipped straight to 3 on 3.

Since they benched Crosby for 5 minutes straight in OT I would assume other players would be less tired if he had gotten some ice time , I dont the rules stipulate that #97 and #29 has to play every second shift in OT :-)

It's because Cooper played him and McDavid for a shit ton of minutes in OT.

Of course he's gassed.

Ask the fans, who pay the bills, what they want. My guess is 7-10 mins of OT (a tie if no decision) would win over 5 mins of OT and the shit show that is the shootout.

Coaches can learn to play three lines in OT and will adapt.

I guess galloping full speed the way he does is tiring, but I kind of liked the 10 minute OT. Shootouts, at least in nhl games, are boring to me

How many shootouts have their been this year? I honestly can't recall the Leafs even in being in one. So what team has gone to SO the most? 4-5 times maybe out of 50+ games so far? So 10% of their games. Oh the humanity!

5 minute 3v3 is fine, let it be.
