WC: 2023 Czech Team

When I look up the stats something tells me that Hrubec will be sub .900 and Sobotka got top 6 minutes. We already saw that bullshit at the Olympics.. it did NOT f***en work. Isn't this what cause Pesan fired? Why the f*** are we doing it again.

Hrubec should be permanently moved to third goalie. I don't even f***en know why we committed to all 3 goalies before it starts. It's assinine.

Player wise:

Hrubec was f***en awful and getting routinely mocked by the TSN crew.

D was bad... not awful and didn't break (both goalies were totally stoppable) but not dynamic at all.

F were great... no real complaints. Happy for Sedlak. Hope Chlapik is okay. Chytil and Kubalik were f***en great. Same with Cervus. Would like to hear more from Smejkal but I think he is struggling with visor. Palat please!

At the U20.. our D was much better than our forwards. Here it is the opposite and that is not a good recipe. They couldn't even get Flek his one breakaway a game.

I was wrong on the minutes too.. Sobotka at 14 minutes. My bad!

Chlapik with 9.. I hope he's okay. He's tried so hard to make this team! Left his pregnant wife and young child to come.
 
Knot and Zboril with around 11 minutes on D.

Kempny with 22! Jordan with under 10?
 
It looks like Kari is rolling the lines and going for a 4 line team... I do like that.
 
Looks like Swiss are really getting the guys from NJD except for Meier. That a huge boost and suddenly I am scared about the match against Swiss lol

Watch every devil but Palat come. Meier got rocked with a shit hit.. don't blame him for passing.
 
Slightly OT as the player has been covered sufficiently, but listen to the video with Jandac etc on Zacha on isport. I know we know all this, but to have his behaviour set out like this reminds me of what a complete d*** he seems to be. Since the age of 20 not responding to text messages and calls from the NT, the coach… He should never receive another invite, no matter how well he plays. My wet dream would be a really stacked tournament next year at the Skodas in Prague, Pastrnak & Co. all playing, all the top teams reasonably stacked and the Czechs winning at home with Zacha watching on the sofa holding his d***. Yes, I know. This won’t happen. But a man can dream.

Alternative thought.. I don't think he gives a f*** what the NT does. He'd rather play for USA. I doubt he's watched one CExh game since he was 19.

Agree... No more invites. Announce his retirement from NT and thank him for all his contributions.

And please vote for me to write the memo.haha
 
Gudas was key in the OT goal.. something I'd never thought I'd type.

Kampf is available but UFA... I'd take him. In a heartbeat. As a UFA... I think he'll get a nice contract. Some combo of 4s and 3s

You know, I would have zero issue with him not giving a f*** about the NT as long as he is honest about it. It would help everyone involved if he just announced that the NT is just not for him, he wishes the team all the best but will not put himself into consideration. Then everyone knows where we are with him and I can respect that. But he toys with the team, announced multiple times that he would love to play if he is not injured, available and actually gets selected. He said this quite recently actually, then yet again reneged on it.

I think the second they don't invite him and he's availalbe he will come out and say 'I would've loved to play but they didn't invite me'.

He's a bitch!
 
Palat refused (injury) ... Havlat is gonna ask Kampf too (but there is only 0,01% chance - no contract) 😝
 
Well really f*** me, I am really starting to think that Havlat is doing a really poor job. Or the players from NHL just dont want to play under Kari.

I get If 1-2 NHL players wont come cause they played with minor injury in PO, but this year almost EVERY single player didnt come because he got mysteriously "injured" , rest because they have to rest or wont go for any good reason (Hertl, Zacha) and we ale also turned down Vrana (completely stupid decision).

Swiss guys get knocked out and next day they are on the plane to boost NT at wch, no one is "injured" there, thats strange.

Really something seems off here. I dont believe its all just bad luck.

Hi guys, was anything said on the czech TV about Koch's hit in the sense that it was illegal because he made no attempt to play the puck? See quote of my post from the GDT below.

I've noticed a lot of Czech comments about the supposed illegality (ref was right there, he saw it perfectly and it was absolutely clean) of Koch's great hit focus on the fact that the Koch made no attempt to play the puck. I mean like not just clueless people commenting on the internet and parroting what they heard somewhere, but also sports journalists in their articles.

Makes absolutely no sense. Makes me wonder, was something like this said on the czech broadcast? That it was illegal because Koch made no attempt to play the puck? Have they never watched hockey before? Do they not know the rules? It really just feels like they're grasping at straws - they know it wasn't late, they know it wasn't charging, they know he didn't raise his hands and they know their player was skating with his head down, so they made up some nonsense about not playing the puck.

In another bizzare turn of the events, the czech team even admitted that they proactively contacted the IIHF to review this situation, even though they do so automatically and input from teams is not required. As I said, that hit broke their brains.
 
Out of almost 25 posible NHL or NHL/AHL players we got 4. Out of that 21 I would say maybe 16 got mysteriously "injured", sorry but I dont believe its just luck, something is wrong here.

I see many people like conspiracy theories. The players are either injured or exhausted after the season. The same case with Canada, Finland, Sweden, US. No need for conspiracist hypotheses.
