We have a limited amount of shooters! Almost none of them are here. Kubalik is one for sure. It's more a group of finesse guys that pass more than shoot. I get the feeling I'll be complaining about 'finishing' a lot.

Eg. We had a great setup for a bomb in period 1.. but it was tomasek blasting it. No offence to him but that's not rantanan or pasta.
The Finnish offense is not impressive either. Of course, we have Kakko and Rantanen coming but thinking about how it's going to be behind them.. not impressed.

Thats why we definitely need Kulich eventhough he is 19, he should go straight to WCH

That's the lack of finish... Chlapik needs to bury that. Great turnover

What is happening with Laine? He can definitely finish. I also remember Kakko at the last world's and he was a beast. Currently I see Finn's as the favs. But will wait till rosters are finalized.

Laine has some kind of injury and it is not sure if he can play at the WHC. We hope he can, but we will find out soon.

Our D is completely pathethic that just nothing else can be said that .

So far this match shows how "weak" the team actually is. Even if we get into chances its absolutelly random, whereas Finns are straight outplaying us and making one chance after another.

Not bringing Vrana was a mistake, and they should also presssure Hertl more to come. He had a whole month to rest and stay with the family. And he will have I am sure another month at least till the full preparation for next season starts. I am sure he could have manage to hop on WCH for two weeks.

I don't see how any of this refutes the part you bolded. There is no A-tier tournament currently.

Well, if it's almost 10 years since we had true best-on-best tournament then, under these circumstances, WHC should not be viewed as a "B-tier tournament" anymore - on the contrary, it should be the main goal in int. hockey (as it is currently the best int. tournament). Therefore it's understandable that fans would like to see different approach by some of our players (eg. Zacha).

Damn shame we couldnt hold it off, but in contrast what I have written before, that third period really changed the image of the whole match. Really good game from us in the third. But the D is still weak lol

Hopefully we get rid of Jordan, Scotka, Dvorak and boost it up with Jiricek, Zboril and hopefully Galvas and it will be at least decent.

I was in and out . Did Voracek, zaruba or havlat mention galvas at all? Or is this an online pipedream from posters like me?

lol I watched like five minutes of this game and yet the main takeaway was still how much Jordan sucks.
I get that he's a great locker room guy but man he's so bad it's beyond my comprehension they keep putting him out there. But at the moment pretty much every LD on this team stinks, including Kempny.

Hahaha, your last sentence made me laugh. I just wonder if his experience from the WJC didn't leave a good impression on him. He'd have a good role here and he'd be valued. But we have to respect his decision. Although this may impact his Olympic nomination some day.
It's clear to me that I don't know what all happened in the relationship between Zacha junior+senior and the Czech hockey association. I really do. On the other hand, those people who harmed him at the time are not currently in the national team. They haven't been there for several years. And we keep hearing the same thing, whoever the general manager is, is to feel a huge disappointment on their part with Pavel Zacha's approach. This is no coincidence, he simply does not want to play for the national team. I would just accept this reality and stop caring about him. After all, we can't follow someone who clearly shows contempt for us, whatever the reason.

Yeah the defense blows, but Jordan has just no business being a national team player. Watching him attempt to skate is painful.

Yeah its like watching a sloth on skates, completely ridiculous. Jerabek also bad, Scotka invisible, did he even played?

Knot on the other hand really good performance and not just because he scored. I guess Kostalek and Kundratek decent, Kempny so so. Dvorak even though I wouldnt like to see him in the final lineup I must say was one of the better ones today.

Jiricek, Zboril, Knot, Galvas, Kostalek, Kempny, Kundratek/Dvorak final D ... Jordan, Jerabek and Scotka need to go and never to return to nt lol

How was today's game? I had a lecture, couldn't watch it. The final score looks like a typical pre-tournament close game between Czech Rep. And Finland...

I would like to report in detail, but I did not see the whole match in detail in the pub.. Anyway, the ending was a typical example of how to lose a won match. In which we were not better. And overall, the Finns definitely looked like a very strong team. However, from what I noticed, our weakest players were already named here. In my opinion, Jordán, Jeřábek and Sobotka really shouldn't be in the team.

All this Jordan criticism has helped me accept he will be the captain of the team playing 20 a night.lol

Jeřábek was playing his first game after the Extraliga championship celebration. That's never easy. He should get one more chance.

You can agree with that. Unfortunately, since he played in the Olympics, I don't remember a national team tournament where he played well. Including EHT tournaments. I really don't think that his participation in the World Cup should be justified in any way. And I write this as a home club fan of Jeřábka. He is too soft and too slow for international hockey.

Czechs had some very strong moments and in my opinion, played well. Czechs had a lot of powerplay chances which they failed to score on so I felt like Larmi stole the game for the Finns. The ending was kinda sad from the Czech point of view, since we tied the game despite Czechs being on powerplay.

Terrible PP cost the game for the Czechs.
