I think that is their hope, but it remains to be seen if that can happen. Reports at the time of surgery was 12-18 month recovery time. The playoffs would start about 10-11 months post surgery, as he didn't have his procedure till around May 10th of this year. IMO, you're looking closer at 2nd to 3rd round at the earliest, and probably more likely the start of the 24'-25' season.MacFarland on Landeskog:
“He’s going to miss the regular season, and then I wouldn’t bet against Gabriel Landeskog in anything. If there’s somebody that’s going to deal with what he’s dealing with, with the right attitude and determination, it’s him. He’s our Viking.”
So a playoff return, perhaps? Maybe, maybe not.
“We’re hoping,” MacFarland said. “There’s still so much that needs to be gleaned in this so it’s hard to put a timeline on it.”
Don't get me wrong, I hope he returns by the start of the playoffs this year, but given what we know about others that have had the same procedure, and the fact that they want him to return healthy, I hope they don't push it too much. Let him heal fully before he plays again.
