I think you just pay whatever it takes to get Lindholm

Lindholm only gives us a run this year... Then we're repeating the same problems again next year.

JEE gives us a legit 2C for the rest of this teams contending window. And not only do they get a 2C, they get one at a ridiculous cap hit that can easily be worked into the cap going forward so that they dont have to lose anybody else out of the core.

JEE would cost more but is also just the way, way better fit IMO.

The 2nd biggest issue behind RyJo/2C for me has been the play of Bo Byram. Which has been especially compounded by Girard's absence. We simply aren't getting quality 2nd pairing minutes out of our 2nd pairing and the result is even more pressure on the top pairing to perform, with Cale clearly not being at 100% either and I think its particularly showing on the defensive side.

No lie here.

Teams calling on Kuzmenko? Interesting. I know hes not having a good season but I like dude.

Man the Avs need to take a big swing here eventually. They’ve been shopping in the bargain bin the last two seasons, and it’s gotten them nowhere. Drouin, Tatar and Johansen have all been disappointing.

I honestly don’t think Byram has been all that bad. The forwards are the issue right now, and they’re turning the puck over constantly.

Only way they're getting rid of RyJo is packaging him with a high pick or top prospect, agreeing to retian 50% of his cap hit, and getting next to nothing in return. No one wants him.

No ones trading for this piece of garbage. How Cmac thought this guys could be a #2C is beyond me. What a f***ing moron.

It's very difficult for me to see a world where we somehow dump Ryjo, can also afford that trade price, and where Minnesota helps us out of our biggest issue. Issues?

CMac should have tried building this team differently. Trading those 1st round picks and the 2nd for legit 2C and at least one 2nd line winger. He could have built a more expensive 2nd line and cheaper 3rd line. Didn’t have to spend 4 mill on a 3C. I would rather have a good 2C even if it’s little more expensive and a cheaper 3C.

You can find cheap 3rd line centers who can be defensively responsible and maybe get you like 30 points or something. Right now this team doesn’t have a 2nd line at all. Maybe when Lehky comes back it will improve a little, but they will still be missing a 2C and another winger

I'd staple Ryjo to Mikko, whatever position Mikko wants to do it from, but that's what earns you 12M, not riding shotgun pulling the trigger like Johan Franzen.

The Moose gets 12m, the mule gets bought out.

Yeah, Mikko is in a big slump right now and needs to get going. When he does get going and hes the dominant Mikko again, maybe put him with RyJo and have him get going too, because this version of RyJo is just gonna be waste of 4 mill and roster spot and don’t think you can trade him

I really don't think the Avs need another winger, if they get a legit 2C:

Lehky - Mack - Drouin*
Nuke - 2C - Mikko
Wood - Colton - LOC*
Cogs - Olofsson - Kiviranta

Keep in mind there's a decent chance Kovalenko ends up taking the 3rd line RW slot and bumping LOC down. And then at least as of right now Drouin loses his spot to Landy. Which then gives you Kiviranta as injury replacement #1 in the bottom 6, Drouin as injury replacement #1 in the Top 6.

Also keep in mind we may not even move RyJo in a trade this year so then he could be another extra body option as well.

The 2C has absolutely got to be solved, but I really think if you fix that with an actual solution(Like JEE, Lindholm, Nelson, Zegras, etc) and not another bandaid, you've got a plenty deep forward group that can win it all.

But right now the 2C hole is killing us because it has literally everyone else on the team playing roles and minutes they simply aren't capable of sustaining or doing well in.

Obviously we won't know for sure what the situation is with Landy until much closer to the deadline but I think until we hear otherwise they probably should operate under the assumption that he'll be back and thus focus all of our attention on the 2C slot.

I’d say there is a -10% chance he’s traded, don’t set yourself up for disappointment. Then you’ll have people wanting to fire cmac for something that will never happen, he’s on a good contract , he produces. Teams just don’t trade those guys

Oh I'm well aware he's not trading and am certainly not setting myself up for disappointment.

But the likes of Lindholm are certainly available. No excuses to not be involved in a player like that at this point.
