Not Byram or Zadorov if that's who you were thinking of.
Tyler Myers perhaps...same team too.

Makar?Every high 1st round defensemen has this... reminds me of somebody, though I can't place who....![]()
The issue with Manson is his NTC. Without that he'd be easy to trade.A team wanting Risto gives me hope for Manson. Maybe someone else wants to add "snot" to their lineup and he'll waive! Assuming the Avs actually want to trade him, which I'm not certain of.
Anyways, Kadri and Tanev, please.
Lindholm and Tanev. Just say no to Naz.A team wanting Risto gives me hope for Manson. Maybe someone else wants to add "snot" to their lineup and he'll waive! Assuming the Avs actually want to trade him, which I'm not certain of.

Death, taxes, @dahrougem2 hating on any Kadri return.Lindholm and Tanev. Just say no to Naz.
It has everything to do with contracts.Death, taxes, @dahrougem2 hating on any Kadri return.
Interestingly enough, you could put the stat lines (advanced and basic) of Kadri and Lindholm and have a really hard time telling them apart.
Lindholm's next one will arguably be worse (not that Kadri's is good). I'd probably go even further and say there is a 90+% chance of being worse. Significantly more money, more term, only 1 year younger at the signing date... with a very good chance at being buyout proof. It has everything to do with contracts.
Why people think that the Avs would want Kadri back? Avs could have had him for cheaper and said no thanks.Does Johansen have a NTC/NMC?
If not, RyJo+ for Kadri probably wouldn't be all that expensive of a deal for us asset wise and I think the Avs would have a reasonable easy time fitting Naz into the cap situation next year.

Which is why you trade for him as a rental. You try to go as all-in as possible this season and win another Stanley Cup before accepting the growing pains of Ritchie/2C by committee.Lindholm's next one will arguably be worse (not that Kadri's is good). I'm down to load up as a rental, but I just don't see anybody acquiring Lindholm to do that and teams will add a touch more in value to accomplish it. Meaning the Avs probably have to move their 1st + Ritchie/Goulash + RyJo at least to grab Lindholm. Probably one more piece. I don't see that happening.Which is why you trade for him as a rental. I mean just get Lindholm at that point.I don't think we'll be getting an elite 2nd line anytime soon, and I don't think we're 1 center away from fixing it unless Landy is back in the playoffs.
So the next best option is to go to the Tampa route and make the rest of the lineup a pain in the ass to play against.
If Seattle is clearly out of the running I wonder if we could get them to bite on RyJo + 1st + for Gourde.
RyJo has no clauses in his contract.
Define easy... if Landy comes back the players currently under contract (swapping RyJo and Kadri) would be at 88.8m with 10F (this include Kovalenko)-6D (includes Malinski)-1G. That roster needs 3 to even be iced... 4 or 5 to have extras for injuries, and still has to cut over a million. You'd be moving G for nothing and league minimum players. Certainly can be done... but easier said than done.
I'd move that. Another one, probably some piece. But I think we still end up losing the bidding.I'm down to load up as a rental, but I just don't see anybody acquiring Lindholm to do that and teams will add a touch more in value to accomplish it. 21 man roster means you’ll be playing short a lot to get a ‘free’ call up. Still… gotta find guys who can contribute cheap, not pay anybody excess, and dump G for no salary coming back.I think that would be easy.
Especially when you factor in that the remaining players to fill out the roster would be 4th liners and bottom pairing Dmen. We shouldn't be spending more than $800-900k on them anyways and we aren't really right now either.
Lehky - Mack - Mikko
Landy - Kadri - Nuke
Wood - Colton - Kovalenko
LOC - ???? - ????
Toews - Makar
Byram - Manson
???? Malinski
George
????
Basically leaves them with $4M for the final 4 roster spots or $800k each to run a 21 man roster.
Just ship out Mikko and Girard. Problem solved.
