Matter of time before Zell takes the team lead in points. Gonna be interesting to see if they keep him down there if he goes above ppg. Seems to really be coming on of late.

Zell's offense is a known and, probably, an expected high output. The defense is what Zell needs to elevate to make the push to the NHL level.

There is also another factor, who is going to be sent down as well as who is going to sit? We are currently running 14F and 7D, with the possibility of D Drysdale and C Zegras returning soon. It feels as though Zell might be stashed in the AHL all season, except at the end of the season as a reward.

Wonder if there is any chance Regenda, Zellweger, or Perreault comes up at some point. Ducks need some new blood, and if it leaves McGinn a healthy scratch So be it.
I feel like if given the chance to play an NHL game that Perreault is gonna do his best to impress Cronin. Would maybe try him on the Henrique line and bump Silf to the 4th line or put him on the Carlsson line to see how he does with favorable matchups.

I'd like to wait until Z is back. I want to see him play with two legit top/middle 6 players... Killorn-Carlsson-Perrault or Henrique-Zegras-Perrault.
Vatrano-McTavish-Strome (Why fix the only thing that isn't broke?)
Henrique-Z-Terry (Maybe having Rico-Terry gets him going? Also a 2A/2B line so pick your poison on matchups)
Killorn-Carlsson-Perrault (Hopefully Killorn will be back up to speed)

Wonder if Suchanek is playing himself into a contract. Seems to have already leapfrogged Alexander in the organizational pecking order
He already deserved one based on the Camps imho. Really never understood the Alexander signing. He is just big.

I think we ran into goalie injuries at the NHL level. Mid-season, we called up Dostal. That left OEE as the lone goalie in the AHL. Eventually, OEE played one game in the NHL too, revealing the injury situation in net at the NHL level.

We signed Alexander mid-way through his season in Juniors and brought him over. Once the team started to get healthy and when Clang's season was over in Europe, then Clang was sent down to the ECHL.

Note, our goaltending coach Maharaj is battling cancer and Verbeek hired an asst goalie coach while Maharaj is away. The cancer diagnosis was shared after the reg season last year. Maharaj helped big man Stolarz get back his groove and then some. I was hoping that Maharaj could also mold Alexander, since he's a big guy too.

Here are game recaps from Defend the Nest (DTN):

What‘s the deal with Pastujov? He seemed like a decent prospect if he could (maybe vastly) improve his skating. Is he just incapable of doing that, or is he not putting in the work and/or doesn’t think it’s a priority? I guess it’s not necessarily easy, but seems like out of all the flaws that hinder hockey players, fixing your skating stride should be the easiest one.

Needs an ECHL stint

A bit unfair to judge a defense based on a single moment in time, and this is just after a line change, but I'll still call this Exhibit A in the case of the terrible defensive team. Players just all zombie-ing towards the puck carrier.
