Players park in front of the goalie far more often on the PK. Fowler doesn't move, let alone clear, opposing players in front of our net. That's one of the significant factors why Fowler's defensive numbers are down on the PK.
That's ok, we have Drysdale and Zellweger

They all are great, but as a team they'd not fit

I would be interested to see the PK numbers for the players Fowler was out there with, both with and without Fowler. The PK looked good for a couple weeks to a month if I recall correctly, and outside of that…woof.

Fowler-Gudas
LaCombe-Lyubushkin
Hagg-Drysdale
White

Vaak to waivers

More development time for the rest of the kids. Minty, Zell, Hinds, Helleson.

Feels like we need another LHD to play with Drysdale.…

Fowler - Gudas
???? - Drysdale
LaCombe - Lyubushkin

Vaak is never healthy, Hagg is like a lateral move from Benoit, and White is meh. Don’t like Gudas on the top pairing, but him and Fowler compliment each-other very well so could work. Have no problem Gudas going after other teams top players physically. We need more of that. But have to keep Gudas around 18-19 mins of ice time tops, no more.

Forbort for White/Vaak would be perfect.

PK defensive pairing thoughts

Fowler - Gudas
xxx - Lyubushkin

Choices left are Hagg and LaCombe for the LD spot. LaCombe is going to be playing on the PP, which he was a part of last year in his two games. I'm not sure if Hagg is PK'er.

Not sure how you're getting LaCombe on the PP (or on the team for that matter). Pretty sure Drysdale and Fowler would both be ahead of him, not to mention Zellweger or Mintyukov if they make the Ducks. The final two games last year have zero relevance to the lineup Cronin ices. Different coach, different roster.

Interesting seeing Drysdale in McDavid's (?) event. They're both Otters alumni tho. Jamie wearing an LA hat

You can feel the McTavish's workout intensity through those pics.

I think his production in the NCAA earns him a shot that spot, not his 2 games. He’s an offensive defenseman. We are also hardly so dripping with offensive talent that we can’t run more than 2 defenseman total on the PP.

Would be nice to have a balance of OFD and physical/shut down D for each pairing. Feel we need to add another LHD who is physical for that to happen. Right side is covered.

On another note, I think a Fowler - Gudas pairing can really be good , think it could be a 2nd pairing on most playoff contending teams. But a top pairing is where the concern is, but we shall see.

We only have one guy who can play top pairing minutes for a full season and that's going to be an issue for us (and for Fowler) yet again.
