Day to day yes. Doesn't mean they could be back any day, but that they're being evaluated on a day to day basis
That's how I've always understood day to day to mean. Generally speaking that's what they would say for a minor injury that they expect the player back after a few games. Don't typically see day to day become IR. I could be wrong and just not register it when it happens. Just my perception.

Yeah that's absurd. Day to day means he could be ready any day. Obviously that involves a daily evaluation but that's not really the point and it's really disingenuous to suggest otherwise.

Happens quite often. Players have to be given a designation before the length of their injury can be determined. When it’s unknown, day to day should be the initial designation until you’re certain the player won’t be returning before the length of an IR stint

May as well just say "moment to moment" at this point. Words mean nothing.

Club policy from the top down is to be as discreet as possible. Personally I prefer it to constantly having the media harp all over every possible scenario related to the team. When there's something we genuinely need to know, we'll know it
How about a nice happy medium? There’s no reason we can’t know some basic info when day to day drags on for weeks and weeks. Nobody’s asking to see the X-rays, MRIs or CT scans.

Am I the only one kinda over Henrique? Don't get me wrong, he's not bad, I just don't know if he clicks with this roster anymore.
He looks completely checked out.

The last time he played this poor he was waived. It wouldn’t surprise me if he gets it going for another team after the deadline but I wouldn’t expect getting much for him.

I jury timing last year really screwed us. Probably would have got something decent for him

Now, getting closer to addition by subtraction

This is one of the problems…

Top line production…

Zegras - 2 points in 12 games (injured)
Terry - 13 points in 23 games (.56 PPG)
Killorn - 5 points in 13 games (lol)

McTavish line starting to cool off, and the top line has not picked up the slack. It took Leason and the 4th line to at least keep the game interesting last night.

3rd line is just a black hole that consumes oxygen.

Also a problem:

LaCombe -15
Fowler -12

Once Drysdale is back….

Fowler Drysdale
Vaaks Gudas
Mintyukov Lyubushkin

Send LaCombe to the minors

On a more positive note…Gudas is a +8. Vaakanainen +5. Impressive given our recent struggles.

A Fowler Gudas pairing would be ideal but I think we need another solid LHD for Drysdale.

I would try a Mintyukov Drysdale pairing but I doubt the coaches want for try that. They prefer to insulate the young players.

Drysdale and Fowler is all speed.. They would get destroyed against big hitting teams..

I think Gudas is a good stylistic partner for Cam but I wouldn't expect his +/- to stay so pristine once his assignments changed.

I think if we can get 5-6 games of:

Z-Leo-Terry
Strome-McT-Vatrano
Killorn-Henrique-Silfverberg

things will really settle in.

Z was playing injured and Terry has (in my opinion) looked better every game the last 2-3 games, I think with a healthy Z the 2 of them will figure it out.

Killorn isn't a top line player but I think he can shuffle between the 2nd and 3rd lines as needed, and once he builds some momentum his play will improve. The "century line" as Ahlers called it was when all 3 of those players looked their best, but it was very short lived because of Zegras' injury. I also know that some folks here have a strong distaste for Henrique but I still think he is one of our better forwards. He just plays a style that I would call "efficient" where he coasts until he can capitalize. He disappears when we're playing well but in games like last night where we need a goal he becomes one of the most noticeable players, skating hard and playing really physically.

Probably, but I also don't think it will dip to -17 in a month like LaCombe. Honestly, at this point, whoever we put with Fowler is essentially a human sacrifice, and I'd rather it be a vet (Gudas or Lyubushkin) than a kid.

I'm still not a big fan of Z with Terry. I prefer Z at center for 3 scoring lines and a more balanced attack but if we have to play him at w put him or T with McTavish. And rebalance around that and drop strome with Rico
