The Flyers just finished game 41, halfway through the season. Before the season, I posted my point projections for each forward. At game 21, I uploaded projections for each player, and I am doing that again now. I am also posting the game 21 projections for reference. It’s important to note that the numbers provided are the number of goals/assists projected over an 82-game (total goal/assists divided by games played times 82).

Sometime later today, I might add my thoughts on a few skaters as well. But I'm running out of time right now.

NAK has 11 points in 26 games and is +9. Makes $1.225m.

Deslauriers has 3 points in 38 game and is -7. Makes $1.75m.

Hathaway has 5 points in 39 games and is -9. Makes $2.375m.

Cates has 4 points in 21 games and is -3. Makes $2.625m.

The Flyers get less bang for their buck on the 4th line than most any team in the league.
The Flyers define 'bang' differently from you.

COC didn't know. Poor COC.

Right now, Frost does have a spot as one of the team’s top three centers. But out of the three, Frost’s long-term hold on a job appears the most tenuous. Sean Couturier may not be all the way back yet as a play-driving monster, but he has eight points in nine games thus far and (more importantly) has seven years remaining on a massive $62 million contract that includes a no-movement clause; most likely, Couturier isn’t going anywhere. Noah Cates last season provided similar offensive totals (eight fewer points) while grading out as far better defensively, and as long as Tortorella remains in the mix, Cates isn’t going anywhere.
That leaves Frost as the offense-first center in their mix, except 46 points in 81 games isn’t exactly standout production for a player with little two-way value. Without a further scoring leap, it probably won’t be enough to keep top prospect Cutter Gauthier from taking Frost’s spot down the middle once he signs his entry-level contract and turns pro — which could happen as soon as next spring.

Fwiw, Briere said in dealing Cutter they wanted a dman or a C back. They got the D, so expect a C target on the next deal they do, if they can.
Well, it doesn't take a genius to see that center is the priority for this organization, given they don't have a single prospect who's a lock for the spot - can Barkey and Rizzo stay at center, is Ciernak a center, can Michkov move to center, is Desnoyers more than a 4C? Too many question marks.

It's much easier to move centers to wing than wings to center, so I'd prioritize centers too - but not to the extent of skipping over the obvious BPA.

LW is also a need, but land a couple centers and Cates can move there, and Barkey might be a better fit there, same with Rizzo, as well as Desnoyers, Avon, Ciernak.

Why wouldn't he, in fact I expect him to sign this spring, he's not going to have a bidding war, he's still limited by the CBA, and what team offers more opportunity for a young center? Flyers have money and a great opportunity to seize a job before they bring in young competition.

Well, with deadline only ~6 weeks away... can tell you what guys got on my new EHM save aha.

Atkinson: Late 1st
Walker: 2026 1st
Seeler: 2nd, 4th
Hathaway: 3rd
Staal: 4th, 4th
Deslauriers: 7th

Laughton and Ristolainen on the block... few days until deadline... some solid offers:

Best for Laughton: 2025 1st and 2025 4th (New Jersey, almost accepted)
Best for Risto: 2025 2nd

Briere getting anything less than that would be a disappointment then. Lmao.
