It’s why I can’t bring myself to get excited until we see an ownership change.

Which I’ll be the first to admit, may never happen - which sucks ass.

Comcast has been very transparent that they are against - and terrified of the idea that the “old guard”, and long time employees need to be evicted. There is a portion of the fanbase that would lose their minds over that as well.

We just know what Buffalo felt like for years, and what Edmonton feels like RN - although at least they have a few star players. We have what exactly. Cates, Brink, and York? Please.
At best, things might change when Hilferty is gone and Clarke and crew are dead.

Not a given though

If you had a pick one stat or analytic that is the most important - which one would you pick? Maybe one stat, one analytic?

And why?

Some people are getting overly excited by the little run of good play by the club and are dreaming of making the POs this season. Today the Flyers are tied for 8th place in the East with Detroit. Most likely there Red Wings will pass them as the season goes on and so will Ottawa, Pittsburgh and New Jersey. They have better rosters than the Flyers.
My fear is that delusion will set in and the FO will believe that they can make the PO for a fruitless one and out experience. I'm positive that Tortorella will be leading that charge. He's not the guy to lead a rebuild. He'll push for extending the vets and acquiring some more of them. I doubt that Briere has the strength to push back on Torts and do the right things in order to hold the course.

The only way for Frost to stay in the lineup is to produce every single game. If he has 4 points in 3 games, and the next game he doesn't produce -- that's not good enough. Tortorella's bar for remaining in the lineup is McDavid scoring.

"Who have the Flyers ruined?" I cannot think of a worse way to destroy confidence and progress than this arbitrary horseshit.

I'm baffled that after the last decade, anyone could continue to have any faith with the Flyers' constant and unchanged process.

I will preface this by saying I don't follow sports as closely as many here. Call me casual. One thing I've heard quite a bit since I've been here, though, is the concept of "ruining" prospects by playing them too soon. Hexy was big on that one.

One thing I always wanted to ask was, who are all these guys? Can someone give me a list? If I don't know much about a certain subject, I default to my common sense, which tells me, if you're good enough, you'll figure it out.

And to be clear, my point is just that the irony of the bolded just cracks me up. Don't rush the kids and ruin their confidence! Don't play the kids and let them build confidence!

The only "recent" one I can think of is Luca Sbisa. He clearly got thrown into the NHL before he was ready because the Flyers had no other D prospects even close NHL caliber. Drafted 19th overall 4 months before and made the opening night roster, played half the games that season before they sent him down again.
