They were surprised b/c he struggled after his hip surgery, basically had a lost season, and they probably thought (as I did) he could use a few months in the AHL to adjust to the pro game. And he still may, they just want to see him in real games to determine if he's NHL ready.Do you think the reason the team is surprised with his play is because he went from an AHL third liner to NHL opening day first liner in one offseason, or do you think it's because maybe they evaluated and deployed him poorly last season?
Rebuilding, ya know.
