TIppett's being graded on a different curve, he's being asked to play on his off side, and he's struggled a bit, but that's less about "merit" than being patient with a player out of his comfort zone and seeing if he can make the adjustment (taking one for the team).

Same issue with Foerster, adjusting to both LW and the NHL at the same time.

Everyone else in the top nine clearly outplayed Frost.

Frost should get back into the lineup, but I think this is a situation that will work its way out eventually, either the inevitable injury or Briere makes a deal at some point.

Amazing that this "curve" appears now and never before.

Why so much dislike for Seeler ?

He’s been very solid in his role on bottom pair.

Most people don't have any. It may be his name in the posts, but it's anger at coaching and management for clogging up the roster with treadmill vets by design.

For me personally, I thought Seeler was an ideal 7D for this year. From all accounts, he's well-liked by teammates and I enjoy that a guy that hung around forever can get some NHL checks. It's the Staal signing I hated.

We dislike the idea of Seeler because we were constantly told that he was re-signed to play for the Phantoms despite the rest of the board knowing he’d be an NHL staple.

That’s where the majority of our anger towards “players” comes from on this board.

Seeler is very much a problem. In my eyes anyway. How an incredibly meh 3rd pairing defenseman has seemingly become a lock for a rebuilding team is just another example of piss poor development.

It’s just being hidden because Ristolainen is hurt, but you can bet your ass it’s going to be a kids spot that’s taken away once he gets healthy. A kid that’s going to share minutes with Staal or Seeler.

I give the Flyers no leeway when it comes to these decisions because the best young defenseman they have developed in the last 15 has been who? Coburn? Sanheim?

As always, two legit top stars in like 30 years. Every opportunity should be made to try to unearth, and develop top talent - but locking in veterans such as Seeler is very much a trend in Philadelphia.

Meh. I liked early time ghost. He was new and exciting.

Give me a Hughes. Hedman. Makar.

Ghost is nice but he isn’t on that tier. I actually haven’t watched a game yet this year which is new me. Who is there to cheer for? Cates? York? Brink?

Please baby.

What prospect was blocked?
Andrae got a full shot, it was quickly obvious he wasn't NHL ready.
Zamula has played higher in the lineup than Seeler, despite his struggles.
No one in the AHL has jumped out yet.

The real problem is Attard, Ginning and Grans haven't stepped up, Samson is too young and raw, and Andrae is still adjusting to the NA game.

It's funny watching people complain that prospects they rate as marginal players aren't being gifted NHL playing time. Like would people really be happy if Ginning replaced Seeler or Staal?

How many stars have the Flyers developed on the back end in the last 15 years.

The cream of the crop is who. Sanheim?

ok there.

That's a totally different issue, and it comes down to drafting.

4 1st rd picks the last decade or so:
Provorov could be a 1st pair guy with the right RHD, he showed that with Niskanen.
Sanheim is finally blossoming at 27 (we hope, still SSS).
York is holding his own on the first pair.
Morin whiff

After that a lot of misses, unlike say Tennessee, they haven't been able to find starters after the 1st rd, though Andrae should buck that trend. I'm keeping an eye on Sotheran. Ghost was their one hit, though injuries have kept him from becoming a reliable top 4 D-man.

Andrae will be fine with a little experienced.
Ginning is a whiff at #50
Hagg was a whiff in the 2nd rd
Grans is a trade, but another 2nd rd pick failing to live up to his draft position so far
Zamula is looking like a 3LHD, not bad for UDFA

I don't think they gave up on him or dislike him.

Torts is just cucking them and they're too much of spineless cowards to go against the face of the franchise.
and imagine if he played in the top pp of Colorado, tbl, Edm, nyr. Detroits been great so far but their pp doesn’t have the elite talent avs/Edm/tbl have. Yikes

Doesn't this mean this team is punishing Frost for mistakes other players are getting away with? It also seems to entirely defeat the notion that this team's roster is a meritocracy, seeing as you have specifically stated it's not about merit.

How is Frost supposed to react when he sees that he is the only player being punished for playing poorly?

i bet people here see detroit's plan as a failure already, theres no top 1/2 picks and look at all those old ass 25+ players nearing their retirement age theyve been collecting. nobody projects as a 100+ player, and c'mon theres not 5 players better than Scheifele in that lineup.
