If you asked me to pick a former GM they respect who actively harms your org by his presence, that's the name I'd choose.

29th and Toronto's 2nd rd pick (50+).

However, this was at the same time they were discussing a deal for Sanheim, which would have also involved a 1st rd pick - was St Louis willing to deal both 1st rd picks?

Problem is with these rumors is we don't know the entire context, was this proposed deal for Laughton inclusive of a salary dump (similar to the proposed Sanheim deal), was it one or the other?

As usual, the devil is in the details.

I think it's funny that you think thay turning down that return wasn't idiotic.

Who gives a shit if there's a salary dump? If the team is rebuilding like you claim it doesn't matter.

On that note, we have yet to see the Flyers acquire a salary dump that they don't treat as something more anyway.

This stupidity has Senior Advisors written all over it IMO

Played for the Flyers significantly longer than anyone else & he's only been in the FO here, so don't act like we're just one of many faceless teams in Briere's career.

I have a hard time treating as gospel a rumor from a Flyers-connected reporter during an offseason of blatant leakage after our team President was deliberately hired to hobnob with the media.

If that rumor is true, Briere should have taken the deal. But between the obvious leaking meta-game that Jonesy was playing, on top of not knowing the final details if it was true, I can't see how it is so easily being taken at face value.

I for one assume this team is so stupid they think this makes them look good. "See how much Laughton is worth! We gotta keep him! Too good!"

With John Tortorella, Keith Jones, Bob Murray, and Dean Lombardi, the Flyers are moving from the Jurassic to the Cretaceous. That’s what I call progress. Like I always say: give Michkov until March and the Flyers 145 million years before I start to worry.

"After an internal review, the Ducks enlisted the help of Los Angeles-based law firm Sheppard Mullin to investigate the alleged toxic workplace environment Murray had fostered. According to league sources, Murray directed continued verbal abuse and harassment toward Ducks players, coaches, and other team personnel for years, with one source describing working for Murray as "pure daily mental warfare."

Fits right in with Torts!

Which is good, because we need to suck again.

Pretty sure he blamed that on being a drunk.

Such good culture to have a guy who's gonna get loaded, be a prick to everyone around, and advise that we hire Dallas Eakins.
