They keep adding team speed, TK, Frost, Tippett, Poehling, Atkinson, Laughton.
Deslauriers is their only "slow" forward, and of course, Couts.
The defense has one fast player in Sanheim, but York, Walker, Andrae and Zamula are mobile.
In fact, their biggest weakness is the lack of size on the back end.

Big slow physical teams are a thing of the past, but a fast, aggressive forecheck hasn't gone out of style.

What are the odds of Tippett continuing that great stretch to end year into this season. Man was a beast.

I would say there is a decent chance if they keep him with Frost. They showed some good things in the 2nd half of last season.

Most, I'd hope. Guy can't even handle a pass. There's nowhere in the lineup where you can play him that does not harm his partner and the team.

They only had two forwards with 40+ ES points last year, Aho and Necas. Svechnikov 39 in 64g.
Staal (32), Kotkaniemi (31), Jarvis (32), Martinook (32), Teravainin (23), Fast (26), Noesen (21)

special teams +15 (PP + SH - PPA - SHA)

Strong defense with Burns, Pesce, Slavin, Skjei.

Mediocre goalies in Anderson and Raanta.

Depth, defense, play fast and physical. They don't rely on a few "stars" to carry the team.

Poehling is 24, a former 1st rd pick who's embraced a bottom six role. You'd be crazy NOT to add players like that, with the option to extend him if he works out. He's exactly the kind of player the Flyers haven't added in the past.

Hathaway really only has value to them as trade bait, but if that 4th line does well, PO teams will be lining up for him - he's what every GM wants to add at reasonable cost at the TDL. The second year makes it a little tougher to deal, but the relatively low salary means you just take a low cost bad contract back, and bury him in the AHL.

Staal, who cares. He's here as an extra coach, Torts has made that clear. He won't block anyone. If a PO team wants veteran depth, they can have him for a song.

Staal will block players. As always. We don't need him as a coach. He sucks ass. Have him retire and then hire him if that's what you want.

Roles are idiotic. Role obsession is self-limiting. They chase crap players because they fill roles instead of shooting any higher.

They aren't trading Hathaway. They aren't trading Deslauriers. They aren't trading Laughton.
