So after yesterday's moves, what teams might still have need/interest in guys like TK, Laughton, etc?

I think one player who is being forgotten slightly here is Atkinson. He bounces back and has a productive year he will garner interest at the deadline.

DeAngelo will take up a second slot for retention but will also expire at the end of the year. Flyers have options with that 3rd spot with the ability to maybe retain on Atkinson if he bounces back big time this year or being a third team facilitator in a deadline deal for a soon to be UFA.

Unless I missed the report where he is pretty much done? Like Ellis?

Ellis is an easy candidate to head to Arizona after this year as two of the three contracts to help them hit the floor expire.

Right now the Flyers have $6.6M plus TDA's $2.5M plus Ellis' LTIR $6.25 for a total of $15.3M in cap space to play with in making trades.
However, they still have to sign Cates, Tippett and York to RFA contracts.
Next year they clear Walker and half of TDA, $5.15M, in two years Peterson and Atkinson, $10.25M.

So glaring holes to fill in next years draft are they still need a 1C and a 1D. Possibly 2C, depending on how well Frost and Coots play.

I think that retention slot would be better used on a different player.

I know this is just nostalgia and may not be the most helpful to on-ice stuff for this team long-term (who knows)...but I did smile seeing Johnny Vermont on the ice helping the kids.

Any of those guys in development camp never saw John LeClair play live. At least with Patrick Sharp you can say he could be a role model for the younger players. Sharp really isn't a former Flyers unless you also consider him a Dallas Stars former player.

John LeClair is a good way to attract some gen X and millennial Flyers fans back to the ticket sales office.

Sharp was in the org for four years. Not just a former Flyer, but a former Phantom, which is here most of these young kids will go first.

What are you going on about?

I just said I was happy to see John LeCLair on the ice working for the Flyers. Didn't mean for it to be a breakdown as to whether or not the actual prospects cared who he was.

I'm stating that it is clearly just nostalgia for you and people over 30. None of those prospects likely watched him play at all.

Has Brendan Lemieux f***ed off yet, or he still on our books?

he's f***ed off for now .

Gauthier is being developed as a center. he's most comfortable there and that's where the team apparently wants him. Sanheim's NTC has kicked in as well so pencil him in on D. he's going nowhere for awhile.

definitely need a 1C and 1D still. tanking to land one of those is crucial this season.

I know Gauthier is being tried at center...but I think if they can get a true 1C and Cutter can play LW, itd be best. We know how torts is with centers...id rather see Cutter get to work on his offense first when he gets here instead of being in Torts doghouse.

Youre right about Sanheim... slipped my mind. I guess Risto will be in the mix too.

@Magua

Should we ask them?

Gee, wonder if they will cherry pick only the Flyers’ ball licking questions… Where is the rebuild myrtman? Lucking into Michkov, doing the obvious in trading malcontent Provorov, is that the rebuild? We’re done? Don’t teams in a rebuild look to cash in on tradeable vets, and have a desire to add picks and young talent?

You think as an employee of the team he can publicly answer those questions? Ok. Believe that if you choose.

I'll be really disappointed if everyone of these: Laughton, Atkinson, Konecny, Deslauriers, Ristolainen & Seeler will be in the lineup in 1st game of the season.

We need to trade at least one, two of them. Danny B, show us that we're in rebuild, cmon!

That's all i'm asking for. I just want them to trade a single piece that doesn't have an obvious reason and in the organizations eyes "need" to move them.
