I think that the FO is being coy about who they really want to select. They do not want to do what they did and tell everyone who their guy is for them like they did with Gauthier last year. Barring a trade up to the top 3/4 selections and Benson is the guy. They did can extensive interview with him at the combine.

This is going to be a transition year, b/c if they move more veterans, there are going to be holes they have to fill in FA with low cost signings.
You're not going to force Lycksell into the top 9 or Wisdom on the 4th line if they're not ready, and then there are injuries.
And even in 2024-25, other than Gauthier, what forwards will be on that timeline?

The depth is slowly coming back but the team still really needs an elite 1C and 1D. Which is why tanking next season is so important. We got our stud winger now we gotta get a C or D with the 2024 1st. It’s so important that they land a top 5 pick next draft.

I strongly urge you all to ignore draft strength talk. Just get picks and make good wagers. It will be fine.
