It is so dumb to include Torts in their PR. He is going to lose the room sooner or later and they will have to try and sell him getting fired.
Other than Vancouver, Torts has had as long or longer tenure than Lavi at his stops:
TB: 7 seasons
NYR: 5 seasons
CBJ: 6 seasons

Lavi:
NYI: 2 years
CAR: 5 years
PHL: 4 years
Nash: 6 years
Wash: 3 years

So much for "wearing out his welcome."
The internet is out there, research is easy.

Your research involves comparing him to another old coach who is known to wear out his welcome quickly, and ignoring one of four data points for no apparent reason. No wonder you failed as an economist and a professor.

Lavi is a coach that is known to wear out his welcome himself so…

I also enjoy the “other than the most obvious time it happened” comment.

Wearing out your welcome goes deeper than length of stay.
Almost every HC wears out his welcome eventually, guys like Gallant don't wait for "eventually."

You wonder about Sullivan in Pittsburgh with a new GM - would he even want to stay around for a long period of mediocrity.
Given that Sullivan was Tort's protege, the Flyers are rebuilding, this could be a landing spot in a couple years.
He signed an extension through 2026-27, Tort's last season is 2025-26. If Sullivan gets fired in a year or two, "a special advisor" waiting in the wings?

Because he wore out his welcome in approximately 83 minutes.

The guy had the Sedin twins, which should be coaching easy mode, and he couldn't figure out what to do with them. He hasn't gotten smarter since then.

Look at the Sedin twins numbers before and after their season with Torts (13-14) always makes me laugh lol

2012-2013 - The Pre-Torts Year
Daniel - 40 points in 47 games
Henrik - 45 points in 48 games

2013-2014 - THE TORTS YEAR
Daniel - 47 points in 73 games

Henrik - 50 points in 70 games

2014-2015 - The Post-Torts Year
Daniel - 76 points in 82 games
Henrick - 73 points in 82 games

Oh and there's also this gem - all from Torts one season in Vancouver lol

They bounced back the next season, lost in the 1st round, then went into a tailspin, % of possible points, .457, .421, .445, .494.

Yes a tailspin because Desjardins was a one time HC who was a disaster that benefited from the bounce of the first season without Torts then the team found out how overmatched Desjardins was.

Why does no one from our wonderful media ask for clarification on what the leadership group defines as "the right way?" Or ask Keith Jones, who is now in charge of creating the vision...what is your vision for this team. What does it entail? How do you and Danny plan on getting there? What is your focus? It's enfuriating.
