I never liked Wennberg. He would not break an egg going into the corners. Let someone else get fleeced.

Bussi would net us a 4-5th round pick, no more.

Yes slim pickings for sure.
He has 25 pts in 60 games and 7 goals in 42 playoff games.
I will be surprised if they get a first rounder for him.
At best he is a third line center.

Maybe, but if reports of Swayman getting ready to sign an 8yr/$7 million are true, then you're talking $12 million tied up in goaltending. This would be the most in the NHL and would be just shy of 15% of the Bruins cap space

Yeah that much is 100% sure to me. So just now or the draft really.

You'd have to think this creates insane contingent trade situations like

IF there's a good deal for Linus on the table
AND
IF he waives or it's on his list
AND
IF there's a trade where Sweenius can bring in a game changer (like a Hanafin) with the Linus money

And you've gotta do that just so, because you can't ask Linus to waive and then not deal, that would really suck for morale.

I lean towards it being at the draft. And we make small moves now. I also think we're going to lose most of the UFAs for free (which is fine really). We're a top 3 team. Outside of Jake, usually you take your shot at the cup and see what happens. Jake is the only wild card here to me.

That goalie hug is magical many fans across the league want to see that. Im in Toronto and I talk to many bruins fans here and say when were going we gotta see that hug! I know its dumb to have your cap all tied up to that but I think it brings revenue and interest in for the team .

The hug doesn't really make us $1 more. That's not realistic.I mean ESPN and them cut before it even happens. Same in Canada.

Clownish reporting aside,

One of Ullmark and Swayman will be traded. It makes zero sense to keep both for over 12 million a year when this team has glaring holes elsewhere

The only way both these guys are on the team next fall is if sweeney thinks the best course of action is to sign both, lose guys for nothing, and then trad done of them before the deadline next season.

Probably. What value does Bussi add to a trade? Is there a team out there that values a goalie with no NHL experience enough to make him a asset you trade? Assuming the Bruins are likely going to have to trade Ullmark at some point before next season, trading Bussi would mean they feel like there is a vet back-up that they can grab in FA to fill the void or that they think teams may be willing to trade a struggle low cap hit goalie to them.

Bussi has value but I suspect something along a middle round pick.

Look what happened in the playoffs last year. Having two great goalies is a luxury. We can't afford that luxury with the holes we have in the rest of the lineup.

Is the goal to maximize regular season wins or playoff wins.

If it's the former, then sure keep both and I'm sure we'll finish top 2 in the Atlantic again.

If it's the latter, I just don't see how you can have 5-7mil sitting on your bench for every playoff game and expect to win.
