I just can't stand him.
I am with you

I'd take Zegras in a heartbeat. He's a flawed player, and he's having a down year, but you don't find many 22 year old centers with multiple seasons of 60+ points available via trade very often.
My mickey mouse poll, how many games will it take for this jerk to be the new shit on player. He does not fit the bill of a Bruin.

Sweeney failed miserably the year his team went to Game 7 of the finals, at home. That's a good one.

Sweeney acquired Charlie Coyle and Marcus Johansson for the 2019 playoffs. Johansson had 11 points in 22 games and Coyle had 16 points in 22 games. Also tied for the most goals on the Bruins with 9 and his +8 was the best for forwards. That would seem to qualify as help.
This place is amazing - reminds me of Fernwood Tonight

Well I’m told Hanifin resigning with Calgary

Bizarre

Hopefully Grz holds up for playoffs

Is 8x7.5 what he could have gotten on open market? Im curious why he wants to stay in Calgary

Didn't someone tell you Hanifin to Boston was a given? Now I have to return my Hanifin jersey
nothing is a given but death

Agree - weird

They just got beat by Chicago without Bedard

He’s 3.months away from season over and he’s on a team that looks as bad future wise as any - they got Huberdeau who’s broken for 8 years

Crazy if true

With cap going up he could play for pretty much anyone

can't get the 8th year on the open market, but 7.5mil probably isn't far off from the AAV he'd get. Could be he just likes living in Calgary? Never been, but I've heard it's a beautiful city.

I have cousins that moved there for work 15 years ago and never left because they loved it. I just assumed he wanted to be more local and thought he has his home base here, plus Sweeney has had crush on him since draft. I know travel in the NE corridor is much better than west coast NHL teams.

Zegras is one of the few players I'd consider trading Swayman for. Marchy could be a good influence on him. Then him and Pasta could make us the flashiest offense the Bruins have had in my life lol.

Sign and trade?

Sign and trade?
Who knows probably not if he signs

I’m just a shmuck hockey fan and if you add him to top 4 Bruins are serious contenders for Cup, without they are a coin flip every series

Monty probably plays McAvoy & Lindholm 40 minutes a game with Carlo out till they breakdown

He doesn’t trust anyone beyond top 3 why I want Hanny

I wonder what Daniel Shank is doing these days - one year wonder goon for Red Wings late 80’s before Probert & Kocur arrived but in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls this guy on a loaded team with several NHLers past & present led the team in scoring with close to a 100 points and 500 PIMs

I remember watching him because we had the same first name and Shank was unusual- but he was chaos on skates

He’d be an interesting 4th liner today

Let's assume Linus misses the remainder of the regular season, how does that affect roster building?

You do get to accrue that LTIR and maybe help bring someone in, but still don't have a lot of assets to use to acquire players, and do you even want to buy not knowing how Swayman will handle the workload come the stretch and playoffs?

I don't think it changes much to be honest. This season was supposed to be a bridge year and to see how the players on the team do. Even if the Bruins have been performing really well in the standings, I don't think the Bruins should veer away from that.

With Ullmark being out, the Bruins will get to see if Swayman can take on that #1G role. Unless there are deals to be made that the Bruins can't refuse for a defenseman or center, I think they should still look to upgrading their defense and try to solidify their bottom 6F corps.

Always look at the bright side of life.

Swayman getting a chance to be the #1 is going to show a lot about what the Bruins can and maybe must do this summer, which is decide on a path forward in goal.

Also Bussi gets a chance to show what he is and can be at the NHL level. Again helps give clarity to next years plan.

It would be kind of a disaster for next years plans if Linus doesn't come back and prove he is healthy this season. Ullmark going from a valuable offseason asset to an asset that might be viewed closer to a cap dump f***s things up.

On the flip side, getting to see if Swayman can actually handle a true #1 work load is good.

Or course if he succeeds if means he will be able to squeeze more out of the Bruins. Which could lead us down a dark Sinden-like path.

Glass half full type of guy, have to love it........... Any word on Carlo , when they say upper body,I do not want to be a Debbie Downer but I am programmed to think concussion.

They said he's day-to-day, given his history i can't imagine that'd be the case if he had another concussion. That's also just me trying to be optimistic though.

The play where he supposedly got hurt was nothing if he got another concussion from that,it might be time to hang up the skates.
