Ok ! let me put my two cents in, for what it is worth. I do not believe Hanifan will be coming to Boston, maybe in the off season, but to play along with the conversation, lets say it does happen, McAvoy, Lindholm ,Carlo, and now Hanifan, would all be under 30, none of them should be traded, your trade chip should be Loheri, I hear the "GASPS" now, how could he say such a thing. But Loheri is still a work in progress, takes time to develop defenseman, and although his potential is certainly there, why not bring in someone who could help you up front, and they will have some cap space nextyear to work with. My suggestion is start talking to Arizona, just maybe something could be worked out with them. Go ahead take your shots I can handle it.

Giving Lorhei a McQuaid and letting him be young Torey Krug for a few years would be amazing. Not sure how you work it all out once Lorhei gets off his ELC, but time to worry about that later.

Yeah I see that side of it too - I have no problem with having defense be the strength of the team with Lindholm+Hanifin, but just a thought if you can acquire Hanifin for free (UFA), then it could be good asset management to use Lindholm to fill a spot elsewhere before he hits his 30s - but I also did forget about the NTC.

Issue is Lindholm has a full No trade clause until 2027-2028 no?

I think everybody on this board is assuming one of the two is gone after this year. Swayman is getting paid after this year and the Bruins can't afford to have that much cap space tied up in goaltending especially with Bussi ready to make the jump to the Bruins.

swaymen is future he can play 55 or 2/3 rds and Linus is older and 41 games or half….Sway is the Way. Great kid they hit a home run here

As much as I'd love Hanifin here it makes more sense to spend on a center instead of D if one is available this offseason. I don't think trading for Hanifin makes sense unless the price tag is lower than we expect. Also doubt Gryz or Forb get moved unless we fall apart in the new year.

Gryz should absolutely get moved, but as with Eriksson, Sweeney probably will not. Forbort should also be moved because he is slow and mediocre.

Surely - but if the B's plan to resign DeBrusk AND Swayman and go after a C in addition to a guy like Hanifin, even $6M would be a lot.

I wouldn’t make any panic moves this season. In fact I’d look to move out free agents at the deadline assuming they could net decent picks. Grzelcyk DeBrusk*

DeBrusk a huge question mark. Like the player. Depends on his ask. 7m+ a big no from me. Move him.

If Sweeney wants Hanifin make him an offer on July 1st. Re-up Swayman, move Ullmark for a 1st or forward. Go shopping with any cap space.

And under no circumstances should Sweeney move Lohrei (unless in a package for an absolute stud).

There won’t be a trade with Lohrei in it

If Hanifin agent knows Bruins have inquired and want him then Hanifin could tell Calgary he will go to FA or Boston now

I’d go get him because I think he’s very good but people have told me he’s not
