I love when people just shit on others opinions when it comes to wants and needs while providing none of their own.
I've noticed that. Like those two ducks wouldn't be upgrades over Steen and Shattenkirk? What am I missing? Like the Bruins would all of a sudden be worse off? Laughable

I go to the Sharks for Kunin and Burroughs or Ducks for Carrick and Lyubushkin

Sharks right defense is actually looking a little bit clogged. They have Benning, Addison and Emberson as well. I wonder if they would consider moving one and question if they would even qualify Kunin at 3 million.

No big fish this TDL but try to round out the edges of this roster with some tougher players is my path.
I like the thinking. Would get tougher,,don't love Burroughs but would be good 7

Sharks bullied Devils - last 4 games Sharks are 3-1 beating Canucks, Capitals, and Devils

a lot of it is 100% being more accountable, absolutely agree here
The thing is you can’t really teach someone to be tough. They either are or they aren’t. Nobody taught Ference to be tough. Sweeney can’t do much about it, he tried with Lucic, other than adding a Jacob Middleton type for 3rd pairing. Imo they need to start drafting those type of players for the future. This team is really god this year and will make the playoffs, but what happens vs the likes of Tkachuk again, where’s the pushback? Frederic ain’t built for that.

Forbort and Lub would be an amazingly awful pairing in 2023. Like epically bad and amongst the worst in the league. Laughable.

Like, it's fair to dunk on people for not saying "why" its a bad idea. Fine.

But its a horrible idea without other changes.

It just gets frustrating when people throw out "lets add X guy" and don't think things through.

Like are they seriously suggesting we get another slow plodding D to pair with Forbort?

Or is the idea to sit Forbort, waive Mitchell and call up Lorhei? Lyubushkin makes 2.75, so maybe you are trading Forbort to fit him?

So dunking on the effort of the retort and not the effort of the proposal seems off to me.

Yeah, that and not accounting for the all important salary cap.

You can teach people to show up tho - and showing up is the most important part, arguably

The problem is that there aren’t a ton of tough guys on the trading block that can actually play hockey.

Like look how bad the Reavo experiment is going in Toronto. If Sweeney brings in a fist on skates like Deslauriers you’re gonna hate watching the other team put it in the net every night with that mug on the ice.

We’ve tried this experiment over and over and over. You can’t sacrifice ability for toughness. We had a tough guy who could play—we lost him due to unforeseen circumstances. Frederic can fight but for some reason has been slowly taking that part out of his game.

Is there anyone who isn’t a bum that can bring some of that to this roster right now? They’re sort of unicorns in this league. Middleton is pretty meh and idk that he changes the complexion of this teams toughness.

I think it’s a lot more prudent to address the 1C hole and kill two birds one stone by switching Zacha back to LW.

What is actually tough ?

Are we looking for fighters ?

How about everyone get their gloves sowed on to their jersey and wear a cage but finish every check

Dale Hunter could not fight and rarely did - as soon as scrum started he kept both hands on stick and brought it up across his chest like a shield - no penalty but effective

Finish checks is easy enough - clean and hard

McAvoy can’t fight but hits like a truck

Poitras is tough - he’s in on everything and has no fear

Huge over reaction here

Teach it?

Its their job to "show up". No one gets to the NHL without it. Over 82 games there will be games where some players just have off nights, low energy. Could be nursing injuries. They are only human.

Yup

I’m more worried about Grzelcyk right now

What does “show up” mean? Do you mean Heinen or Zacha showing up in a pile to push & shove after Pastrnak, Poitras or Marchand get crushed? Imo the makeup of this roster is not physical, it’s more an attempt at finesse.

Says who? You know this how? You know who else is a really bad pairing? Forbort and Shattenkirk, Forbort and Mitchell stinks too. Forbort basically with anyone isn't great.

Anyways, that's kinda my point. Say it's a bad idea because of "x"....Cap space.....Bad fit without other changes....that kind of stuff. It's amazing that this Bruins 4th line and 3rd pairing is so good, nothing ever suggested here is an upgrade or good idea for some

Bruins players should watch some Nik Ehlers youtube videos on sticking up for teammates. That's how it's done. It's no fun getting beat up, or socked in the chops, but needs to be done sometimes....He doesn't wait for Dillon or Lowry to handle it.

Billy Jaffe moments ago disagrees with you. “The Bruins absolutely have to address the toughness factor on this team”. He went on to suggest (as most of us have here) that he’s not referring to fighter, but more so players who “can tenderize opponents”. Jaffe suggested he would look to Columbus and ask about Boone Jenner. Maybe a Brock Nelson if the Isles fall off a cliff. Just get some players here who are mother******* to play against.

As fans we never know which players are “available”. But I agree it’s a difficult hole to plug via trade, that’s why I suggested they make an attempt to draft those type of players.

I’m sitting outside in Orlando listening to Jaffe

Boone Jenner is my top target but Jaffee already said what I know and he’s got 3 more years on

I’m Donny I have to come with atleast one of Lindholm, Hertl, or Hanny

Not sure what’s going on behind scene if any with Sweeney and interest with Hanifin

If agent and player know he’s their guy they can cause Flames getting good return

If I’m Florida I am all over him - he would make that team more dangerous than they are

Lindholm or Hertl could slide in and push Zacha to LW

Because Hanifin is 26 and plays LD and Grz & Forbort are likely gone from left side I go get

Allows Lohrei to ease in

And yet they too often haven’t been doing that job, so yes, reinforcing team culture and accountability is a form of teaching (coaching)

And yet Forbort is +8, 2nd on the team.

I've been made aware of the stat that measures luck. Forbort 's number is extremely high. But at this point, I'm happy for the luck. Kevan Miller had that horseshoe with him during his playing days too.

They need center/wing help much more than they need help on defense
That defense after the McAvoy, Carlo and Lindholm is just not that good, sorry . I agree a wing is the way to go, center is more costly right now, off season is the time too address that position. I also want to know what center would you like to get, and what center would you like to take out of the lineup ? Coyle, Poitras, Zacha.

You must think the B's are the most talented team in the league.

They have 4 regulation losses, while too often not showing up?
