What will it take folk to realize Coyle is filling the role just fine...in fact there's mention he could be up for Selke. Ghiesshhhhh.

Everyone?
You don't win a cup with guys playing over their head for a entire season in such a critical position. He is a black hole at the dot as well, losing face offs in the Ozone is bad enough, lose in your end it will end up costing a series

Ahh yes, the always readily available 1st line center. Why didn’t Sweeney think of that? It’s a brilliant idea!
So lets add another third line player just because? Keep up the good work

Take a close look at his playoff stats/face offs from last year...No black hole there.

If you actually read my post, I never advocated for bringing in Garland. I was simply pointing out that your "i'D RaTHeR HaVe a FiRsT LiNe CeNtEr" response was ill-conceived. Of course you'd rather have a first line center. Who wouldn't? The problem is:

1. They're never available.
2. If one was available, the Bruins wouldn't have the requisite assets to acquire him.

Would love to land pld on the cheap with him having a awful year. Just don't know how we fit that aav? Jake and forbert going other way?
Considering what they paid for PLD and his contract....

I dont think he is going anywhere but to a buyout if he has another season like this one in LA.

Trading for pennies on the dollar would be GM suicide on several levels. Blake has not exactly been a GM of the year candidate and that could cost him his job. He wont do it.

I think he will keep PLD and let the kid play himself out of a job so he can put the blame on the player.

Lets see when he will be the focus, He's just not that player I wish he was.
2 of the 3 playoff games we won last season were on the road with Coyle and Zacha as our top 6 centers, and I think those two games were by far the best we looked in that series. Can they do it for a whole, or multiple, series? Idk, but it might be time to stop doubting those two until they give you a reason to. Every time they've been asked to step up they have.

My thoughts would be to get Brad with a legit first line center rather than another third line player.
They grow on trees, not one of your best posts............. Why don't you just enjoy what Coyle has given this team without giving up assets, to get a overpaid 1 C............

It's not bait its fact, Coyle is not a first line player and it will prove out in the end when it matters. We need help there in a massive way if we have ant realistic shot in the playoffs.
How did your first- and second-line centers work for you last year's playoffs?

I am enjoying it but I need a better option heading into the playoffs. At least get a guy in here that can take the critical face offs

I swear every loss is always on the refs. It’s never the bruins fault. Post season , regular season, doesn’t matter. The bruins didn’t lose because of how they played, they lost due to the refs or at least in part due to the refs!

Sometimes it’s true though.

There are three entities in every game played.

Team 1
Team 2
Refs

Sometimes one team outplays the other to such a degree that bad officiating doesn’t have an effect.

Sometimes the refs do a competent job and whatever the outcome, it is just.

Sometimes one team barely outplays the other and the refs effect the outcome in their favor.

Sometimes the team that gets outplayed gets bailed out by the refs.

Sometimes the refs make egregious calls that directly effect the outcome.

Sometimes the refs inexplicably don’t make an obvious call that directly effects the outcome.

I find the attitude that what the refs do or don’t do doesn’t matter is as lazy a take as there is.

It doesn’t make one more objective or rational than those who complain about the officiating.

They're just complaining about something different.

The fact is, the refs in this league are generally mediocre….at best.

To discount the effect that they have on a game, especially in light of obvious mistakes is just silly.

Every week, at least, they can and do cost teams points in the standings.
